Which scene from The Godfather do you enjoy most or sticks out as being the most defining moment in the movie? Out of all the great memorable scenes in the movie, for me it's the Hospital front entry scene with Micheal and Enzo, the baker. Enzo is trembling so much with fear that he can't light his cigarette with the lighter. After a few failed attempts, Michael grabs the lighter and with a steady hand, easily lights Enzo's cigarette. Michael stares at the lighter in his hand and pauses. That was the defining moment when Michael realized that he had he goods to be apart of the Corleone crime family. Which scene is your favorite ....? View Quote Agree completely with your choice. Came here to post that. |

My wife's sister is in casino management in Vegas. A couple of times I have introduced her as 'representing the leisure and travel industries" like Michael is introduced in Cuba

I always firgured Enzo must have gotten a free pass forever from the Corleones for that night. My favorite scene is always the restaturant. Michael crosses over to the other side when he takes that gun from behind the toilet. Up until then, he was like any other recently returned WWII vet and could have had a straight life. Once he picked up that gun and walked out of the bathroom, he crossed the rubicon. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Is it Enzo or Banasura that gets the "Some time, and that time may never come, the Godfather will ask a favor" talk during the reception? Enzo did his favor that night, anf he KNEW that was what he was doing when he told Michael he would stay. View Quote |

The whole baptism and "family business" scene. IMO that is one of the best five minutes of cinema ever made.

A brilliant scene that captures the enormous intelligence and diplomacy of Tom Hagen occurs in the movie studio with Woltz. After being scolded and threatened by Woltz, Tom politely excuses himself, shakes Woltz's hand and says" I admire your pictures very much".
It's an amazing psychological power play. |

The two scenes that you never see anymore. When this movie first came out and the undertaker wanted justice for his daughter Vito sent two big torpedoes to go and cut the guys balls off. The second scene was the young girl that the producer Woltz was screwing that Tom viewed on the second floor landing as he was leaving. I would REALLY like to get a hold of that original and have never understood why it was cut out. Sorry DVD/Streaming youngsters you missed out again. This one is from Part III. Which is unfortunate because Part III gets no love from anyone. I think it could have been a lot better if Coppola hadn't cast his niece to play Michael's daughter. Trivia time: When was Vito Corleone's birthday? |

Ironically I was watching Godfather scenes on you tube last night... I haven't watched it in a long time.
The scene when Michael is getting ready to kill Sollozzo, Sollozo is talking in Italian and all you see is Michael's face and his eyes... you know he's getting ready to do it. That is the best acting AL Pachino ever did, and he's an awesome actor. But the best scene goes to "the baptism." |
