First car I drove was my moms 88 Taurus. First car that I had under my name was a 1997 Mustang V6. Put BBK headers and flowmasters with no cats on it lol. That shit was OBNOXIOUS loud (and slow). Also added tints and a stereo system. It was a fun car for a 17 year old, chicks loved it, gas was only $1.50 a gallon, and it wasnt the same old Honda crap all the kids my age were driving.

Wish I could find pics.  I rebuilt it, painted it white with 2 black racing stripes.  Debadged it and put "LOTUS" decals on the lower panels.  Idiots actually thought it WAS a Lotus.

But, mine was the weaker 1.6L, as opposed to your mighty XR4i

Yep, Merkur, good old Ford of Germany.

I paid $3k for it in 1997, my first car at 16 years old. It was in the shop about half the time I had it.  Sold it a few years later for $800. Fun car but such a POS. I will occasionally see one out on the road these days and I just wonder "How the hell is that car still running?"
