I just picked up this Buck 501 Squire through a local auction. With buyer's premium, I paid $25.88 for it.

Still have mine from the 80's - carried it all the time. It gets left around open these days for heavy duty cutting - i.e. opening taped boxes

Nice score that!

Here's my latest, not a great pic though, was 10 below zero in the garage as I was trying to do a knife&beer pic, Buck 110 60th anniversary stealth run in Magnacut and rosewood:

@Red_Label
I have both the original and the RAO II; they're monster folders (which I love!).

Not quite new, but the above scalpel folder reminded me of the Ti Rant razor blade folder. Expensive, but if you fly frequently without checked luggage, this is simply awesome. Remove the razor blade when you fly, when you land just hit a small hardware store and pick up a five pack for you stay; gift them to someone when you depart.  Always have a folder with you when you need to travel through less permissive or restrictive environments.

@ROCK6

I'm not normally into the whole tactical/hunting/etc razor blade knife. But that's a snazzy looking setup there! I may have to look into those.

Is that the one from this 1/10/24? The run of 750? Because that's my latest. I ordered one and put it in my safe. I've never had a safe queen knife before.

MDV +1, technically it's a factory second but I can't see any issues. It's a backup incase I loose my first one anyway.

Nice!!! Good to see The Irons being represented. I have a bottle of Trooper on display in my recording studio. I also have a ton of Eddie Pop Funkos, a Maiden Spitfire model, and other assorted Maiden knick knacks. And a bunch of Rush things too. I would really like to find some Rush beer locally. Those are snazzy looking cans.

@HawkCreek, good choice, that's a very unique defensive knife and sheath system. When setup properly, you don't even know it's there...but you can quickly access with either hand when positioned in the 11 O'clock position.

@Red_Label, if you want to dip your toe in, the Workpro are my other cheap folding razor blade knife options. I usually have one in my smaller kits, just a handy little cutter. Button lock locks it open and closed.

Damn you @Rock6.  I like that workpro version and just ordered a 3 pack of the liner lock style...

Liner lock version $14.99 for a 3 pack.

My EDC razor blade for the past year + has been a very minimalist EDCfans box cutter:

I also have a few of these Gerbers EAB which are a really nice design with one drawback.  The version I have from several years ago doesn't use the "normal" sized blades.  They take a thicker more expensive version.  Because of this I ended up using it in one of my mini tool kits.  The reviews on amazon don't seem to mention that it uses the thicker blade anymore, ether its changed or people don't realize it and have never changed the blade.  The ones I have don't work well with the standard size blade.

Stanley 11-931 blade is the thicker version that my Gerber EAB light takes.

For something like a small infrequently used tool kit it gives you a stronger razor blade option and for utility/ work purposes I like it better than dulling a small pocket knife.  Or, tossing in a cheap blade thats not sharp.

This is the EAB Light thought it looks different from the version I got back in 2018.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002RILCLY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

This is another version out now maybe it takes the common size utility blades?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0016KHW2W?tag=arfcom00-20

I just checked my Amazon history and one I still have new in package and it is the EAB light, but the ones i have, have a thicker pocket clip like on the regular EAB so who knows!

Hahahaha! My wife is going to ban me from my ARFCOM friends

That edcfans (hmmm, sounds like Onlyfans for gear geeks) box cutter is pretty cool...just dropped one in my shopping cart

I didn't know the workpro's had a liner lock, that's pretty cool. I've been pretty happy with the button lock versions as they also lock when closed...

ETA, I accidently bought two of the more expensive TiRant Razor folding razor knives I pictured above and gave one to my son. He loves it. Just having that disposable folding razor blade knife has proven invaluable to him as a SWAT LEO/Infantry officer. He saves his Winkler fixed blade and Emerson folder and abuses the razor blades instead For precision cuts, tearing down dozens of cardboard boxes, training and cutting several dozens of zipties, cutting sheetrock, carpet...cutting a lot of stuff that would really dull up your EDC folder, these folding razor blades are a great investment.

ARFCOM does that to me often as well!

I also end up using the pocket carry box cutters/ razor blades quite frequently at work, or when doing tasks around the house.  I usually pair a box cutter with a multitool, and don't have to give it a second thought if I am going to use my blade to cut whatever needs cutting.  Normal day to day if I am carrying a nicer folder or multitool I think twice about opening a box or cutting a wire, and for me that's where having a small box cutter is nice.  Today I only have a buck 110 on my belt and I don't like diving that into cardboard or something with metal in it...

@ROCK6, I've been carrying one for about a year now, I can't think of a better edc defensive knife. Small enough to nearly forget about but a very universal blade. Even useful as a punch dagger if it's pressed into that roll. 11 O'clock with the Rhino sheath is definetly the way to go with this one.
