Short story
During my culinary apprenticeship I worked in a fish warehouse part time for 6 months. Very educational, I would never eat raw seafood of any kind after that experience. Worms tumors cysts ect. in every kind of fish that I butchered. Enjoy |

You haven't lived unless you have peeled and eatin a live squirmin gulf pink right out of the cast net or grouper cheeks cut right off the fish offshore back in the old days before the catch had to be brought in whole. Cracker style.

It's nothing more than a Chinese burrito.
You could make it with Spanish Rice on the outside, taco meat, black beans, sour cream, and a little bit of salsa on the in. And instead of wasabi, guacamole. And a dish of melted Velveeta for dipping. |

If it ain't cooked, I'll pass.
ETA: Hmm, seems like I've passed 5000 posts. Maybe do one of those number threads . . . oops, too late. |

Fred Meyer in Idaho has what they call "Sushi" and it is quite good. Whether or not it is genuine sushi is a whole different matter. It seems like I am eating fish that has been chemically cooked as opposed to being cooked with temperature.

Yagi sashimi was a traditional Okinawan New Years dish that was raw goat ground up with spices.

I just can't get past the texture and smell of uni. It has the texture of soft serve ice cream. I just can't get past soft serve with a strong fishy smell and taste. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

I try not to, but it’s way too fucking trendy to avoid it all the time.

If eating fish on a rice ball I like mackerel a lot.
If eating a roll I like something simple like tuna with avacado, maybe some cream cheese. |

Damned skippy I do.
Japanese are the masters of beer drinking food. Took the family out for a sushi pigout last night. My kids can go through a mortgage payment at a sitting. |

Ate it 3 times a week while in Japan. Nothing like eating fish that was swimming around in the ocean an hour or two before it was on your plate. This place is the place to go for cheap and excellent stuff. 105 yen a plate. http://www.akindo-sushiro.co.jp/en/ View Quote Thanks for the info! |

I'm allergic to sushi. Only takes about 80 pieces before I throw up

We have a place in town for 17 years, does sushi on boats in a moat.
Failed To Load Title A few miles up the road we have sushi on a conveyor belt Sushi Station , Elgin,IL and many sit down and order sushi places. AND, a pleasurable jaunt down the 80 mph Super Slab is the Japanese grocery market, Mitsuwa Market, where they have a self-aware sushi robot that keeps a huge cooler full of all sorts of sushi Plus raw ingredients for idiot round eyes to fumble in their own inadequate kitchens: |

Of course.
I love folks that say "I tried sushi once, blech...." Try something else, then. That's like saying you don't like seafood because you tried eel once and didn't like it. |
