Kinda of funny story…

I work with a SSG that was in or near Baghdad Iraq in 2005.  The area they were assigned to was active enough with IED’s that part of their mission was searching random (assigned) Iraqi homes looking for bomb making materials, weapons, etc. during their patrols.

Anyway, one evening they searched this one house when the husband, wife, and their beautiful young daughter (early 20s or so) were home.  One of the Soldiers my coworker was with walked by where the daughter was sitting, took a quick look at her and casually remarked “I’d like to fuck her!”  

That young Iraqi woman immediately snapped off safe and lost her fucking mind at the crude remark and really laid into Mr. Etiquette in perfect English.  Turns out her dad was a professor of English at a university and all three spoke English fluently.  Coworker said she was still raging when they walked out the door sheepishly, lol.  Can’t say I blame her a bit.

Coworker said she was stunningly beautiful-a real head turner.

My friend growing up was Persian, his mom and sisters were all stunners.

I ate at their place as often as I could. Food was amazing and the company even better. Great family of hard workers, that gave up everything for their kids to have a better life.

The only family I know that worked harder was a family of Afghans. Who also cooked amazing food and were living the American Dream through hard work and grit.

If I had to place bets, nothing burger. They'll give the orders to Hamas to launch some dumb rockets, that will, at best, kill a few Israeli civilians that had nothing to do with any of this, and don't deserve to die. Then Israel will bomb the shit out of them until the attacks end. Iran fundamentally can't go all in. They will lose, unless they can get a major power to back them, in which case it probably would actually be World war three.

My hang up on this has nothing to do with Pacifism, nuclear war, or Russian talking points. My hang up has two points. The first is that we were the ones that originally lead to Iran's current reality. If we're to go to war, I certainly think we have a moral obligation to right past wrongs on that front, which in reality, probably wouldn't be the case. My second hang up is the more important one to me, and I will tell you a story for that one.

There is one religion on this planet that I am aware of, that I do not like. The people of that religion attacked my country when I was in the fourth grade, and in the process, they killed a lot of people in New York, and some of my friends' parents in the pentagon. Like practically everybody else in America, I was very upset, and wanted our military to hit back. From the fourth grade, until I was an adult, we overthrew Iraq, and fought a protracted war in Afghanistan, until we finally got the guy that was behind the attack. In the process, we took a lot of attrition. Not just in the young men that preceded me that were killed or wounded, permanently disabled, but also a cultural attrition. In the decade we fought against the people that attacked us, they also exploited us, and our system of government, to colonize us. In 2022, you can no longer criticize these people. You can't criticize them on this forum, or you will be banned for religious discrimination. You can't criticize them on the street corner, or the same government that declared them to be the axis of evil, will now declare you to be a right wing extremist terrorist. They've taken over significant metropolitan areas. Try to speak out against this religion in the mall of America, and you will probably be shot or thrown off a balcony. The biggest loser in the war on Terror, was America and Americans. Much of Europe is now in the same position. For me to be fully on board with a war with Iran, you would have to convince me that history won't repeat. I do not want a bunch of zoomers to come home in body bags, just so Iranian refugees can conquer our lands and dictate our policy and our speech.

Before 2020 I probably would’ve agreed. Now, who the fuck knows?

Persians have pelts. That is from experience. With more than 1. We had a fairly large number of full Iranians in my high school. Their parents worked at Digital, IBM, Sperry, Raytheon, and Wang back then (Tech Alley in Mass). Lots of Iranian scientists and technicians came over around the time the Shah fell.
