inspired by the "identify these 70's cars" thread..

this is the 70's version similar to the one in the quiz... kinda cool, has a 70's Toyota Celica vibe.

I of course knew about the other Mazda rotary's, the Rx7, Rx3 and the little pickup, but never knew they had a larger coupe/GT car like the Cosmo.

this is the early 90's model I saw that made me go wow, that's pretty handsome, cool looking, and I never heard of such a thing before.

admittedly I'm a fan of the larger two door coupe/GT cruiser type car, but I would daily something like this right now, I think it's pretty good looking.

what kinda off the wall stuff are you guys into/discovered

No. They were never available here. Since they are 25+ years old, they can be imported now, I think.

You say "Mazda Cosmo" but then don't even post the original.

The Isuzu Impulse RS Turbo.  1987.5 model.  I miss the one I had.  The salt and pepper tweed interior was very nice.  Also gave 5.0 Mustangs a run for their money with it's 4ZC1T motor.

I test drove a later Impulse with the "suspension by Lotus" badge on it. As a multiple Mk1 Scirocco owner, I appreciated the Gioretto Giugiaro design.

OP, i.e. is the Latin abbreviation meaning "that is"

Change it to the Latin abbreviation e.g. meaning "for example".

Yeah, it's his Cosmo. It's usually visible in the background of his garage during filming of the show.

One of these rolled into my shop one day and I didn't know what it was. It's called a Bricklin and I guess the guy owns two of them, I think.

The ken-Mary is a bad ass fucking car! Had many R30, R31, R32 and R33.

The 3 rotor cosmo was a funny looking car, pulled many of those engines out.

The NX would have been really neat had they styled the front to look like the Z32. I thought the rest of the car was cool but the front just looked dorky.

This one may not be obscure enough, but I think it's cool and I would totally drive one:

Mazda 323 GTX. It looks like a standard grocery-getting shitbox, but it packs AWD, a turbocharged DOHC 4-cylinder engine, some chassis stiffening over the base model, and weighs 2600lb.

I had the chance to buy a 91 or 92 Toyota Crown taxi with a 2JZ.  Obscure white sedan with wing mirrors and rear window shades.  Complete with all the paraphernalia in the trunk that came with it new, Including the seat and window doilies/curtains.

It had 13,000 miles on it.  I am kicking myself.  6,000 dollars and licensed and titled.

They should have given the SE-R round lights to complete the E30 ripoff styling.

From the same era and also with some borrowed styling, the later Isuzu Impulse looked fantastic

Had a pulsar NX, 944 turbo, and a black Sentra SE-R while in high school. The Porsche was fun, but the SE-R was scary quick. Would love to daily drive another SE-R B13 (gas mileage was awesome), but they're hard to find now.
