I wouldn't consider any of it real fame, but we've had milestones over the years that I've been a part of.
First person to have Ed Sr's forum password with his blessing. First poster of dinner pics. Originator of the Night Crew threads. First DeWalt sticker on a yellow CAV-15, which lead to the Milwaukee ones and some other tool themed AR15s. That whole "fire on a plane" thing. I've had members of the Avila family in my home. First Staff member to be demoted without explanation or warning. Only moderator of a State Hometown Forum for a State he hasn't lived in for 14 years. I sank a boat once. Married another ARFcommer, still married to her after 13 years. One of only 7 people with a glow-in-the-dark MK1 CAV-15. Oh yeah I also started that “google image search -> post count -> post pic” thing that devolved into the “you know what to do” threads featuring primarily train cars. I forget what else. Mostly I blend in and act cranky sometimes, just like everybody else here. |

I once started what I thought was an innocent thread as a reminder to get out those guns from the back of the safe and clean them once in a while. I then promptly left and went to the grocery store.
Apparently GD decided to start about 87 parody threads about reminders to clean guns that went on for a few hours. Mods had to get involved. I missed the whole thing.

I was the guy that wrote the original "best round for grandpa" thread.
I had also written another thread "best round for fat people" where I talked about how I worked with angry violent obese patients and was considering putting a 45-70 rifle or elephant gun in my office. It was locked pretty quickly and never took off like the grandpa thread, but I think it was probably just less humorous of an idea too. That account was banned in 2009 so I made this one around the same time. I assume there's a statue of limitations for that.
