I have tried many many different frozen pizzas and every new One I see , I wil eventually try. Recently, "Screaming Sicilian" has been available in grocers in the PNW and they have an excellent crust, cheese and an amazing amount of high quality toppings. "California Pizza Kitchen" has a great quality crust that bakes up crispy and delicious. The best overall from consumers all over the country is Red Baron and Tombstone and there is no place in the US where you cannot get one of these. For the price, Red baron and Tombstone offer the best value but I personally find the crust of each one of these as real basic and nothing very special. DiGiorno and Freschetta have better toppinsg but the crusts there are nothing special either as is the sauce. Best quality in my book is the Screaming Sicilian followed by the California Pizza Kitchen, both great pizzas but you will pay more for them. I love them all and have personally consumed acres of Tombstones over the decades of pizza indulgence. Even good old Tony's and Jacks tastes pretty good to me and I'll buy them occasionally. Enjoy. Tombstone! Hard to beat for under $4. There are some regional frozen pizzas that are pretty good, "Homerun" out of Chicago is one of them. Tombstone though, for the price point is pretty decent. View Quote |

I like the Roma pizzas. Can often be found on sale for under 2 bucks.

Bellatoria Ultra Thin crust. Tomstone was great when it was a small brand out of Medford, WI. Since it got bought out and went national - not so much. http://cdn2.sportngin.com/attachments/photo/8652/9374/9998_Bel_UTC_SausItalia_LR_small.jpg View Quote |

I like Totino's more than most frozen pizzas. These are good and under $4 per pie: https://images.costcobusinessdelivery.com/ImageDelivery/imageService?profileId=12028466&imageId=607237__1&recipeName=350 View Quote These things are pretty damn good. |

Red Baron used to be my favorite. Recipe has changed too many times since I was younger, though.
Tombstone is top 3. Same with Palermo's Primo Thin. Third favorite might be Publix brand right now. Totino's Party Pizza is honorable mention. |

I know, right? We buy them on sale for $1 and stock up. Are they great? Not by any stretch. But for being $1, they're awesome. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

Wild Mikes pepperoni, I like that there is a packet of pepper flakes included. Besides, it’s the largest frozen pizza I have found.

View Quote I cooked it up and noticed that the pepperoni had an 'off' taste to it, every piece. Not a 'spoiled meat' off taste, but more like a 'we use the cheapest shit we can find' off taste. I should probably buy another one, just to see, but I ended up pitching most of it in the trash. Chris |

1) Home Run Inn pizza
2) Jack's Rising Crust 3) Whatever house brand they sell at Albertsons |

Tombstone is gross.
Trader Joe's Margherita, Formaggi, and Uncured Pepperoni are darn good. |

Red Baron/Tombstone are my go-to cheap pizzas. I'm not that particular just don't try to tell me Digorgno is good. Can't stand that one.

Totinos 3 meat. Horrible for you, but tasty when you want a crappy cheap meal

I was very disappointed with the Screamin' Sicilian. The marketing and packaging was in a league way above the pizza's. I bought it once. That was it.
Don't know why it's so hard to make a good frozen pizza, but there are lots of awful ones. I guess it comes down to how cheap the ingredients are. But, some of the recipes for the sauce and crust are just ... did the researchers taste that and say to themselves, "Yep, that's good, it will sell a ton?" Really? |

Tombstone is a terrible excuse for pizza. Spend the extra $1 and get digiorno or freschetta.
Party Pizza is the real king of cheap frozen pizza. It's not that great but it's only $1 ish. |

Not sure if this fits the thread, but coincidentally I just ordered a six pack from Lou Malnatti's.
My cousin and her husband ate there locally a few years back and they order a frozen pie every now and then. Saw them over Christmas break and that's what they were eating on Christmas Day to break free of the usuals. My pizzas should be here Friday. I'll report back. |
