I'd like to be The Bridge Crash Reporter for a day. Interview the clueless knuckleheads for a Youtube channel for some post-crash analysis.

Maybe reducing the speed limit to 15 MPH right before/at the bridge (as well as all the signs and flashing lights) might add to the heads up something I need to be aware of is approaching.
At the very least would be a great cash grab for the local PoPo when writing the tickets for hitting the bridge. But, then again It is entertaining! |

That tool with the camper ran that red light by a mile. Dickhead could have killed someone.
|
|
I always love seeing those. That asshole with the camping trailer sped up and ran the light, the red light is meant to alert you and give you time to see the sign.

I wonder how many RVs didn't even know that their AC units were sheared off?
|

They seriously put mics on the cameras? That I beam setup is impressive. Maybe it could be sharpened or shaped like a plow and it would just remove the entire roof.

There is a railroad bridge like that in St.Louis close to the river front. Its the one by the casino.
I have seen the top chopped off a truck myself there, twice. Since I am rarely in the area is was either amazing luck to have seen that or there has been a lot of trucks with the top chopped off. |

3rd video posted in OP.
Quoted: Another vid posted today (in OP), plus I saw on Reddit there was another crash just a couple of days ago. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/3053/EABDE32E-013A-4BC8-BEDE-6665EFF6D3D9_jpe-1614025.JPG View Quote He posted this vid pretty quick, he usually takes a week or two to put them up. |

YES! That was beautiful. You could do most of a driving safety course using those videos.
Just asked the teenager - how many traffic control signs & devices did that driver ignore? |

lol GTOger had another tow as well, I guess the world is returning to normal...

When I built my RV I looked up the top 200 lowest bridges in the USA.
My RV shorter than most of them. |

My daily driver is taller than quite a few fast food restaurant's drive throughs.

View Quote If I were king of the world, I'd lower that fucker back down to original height, change the speed limit to 75MPH, and take down the flashing sign. I'd also put it on the registry of National Monuments. |

So basically they raised the bridge so more expensive vehicles can misjudge the height.
|
|
On most straight/box trucks the box height is stenciled, backwards on the front corner of the box so the driver can read it in the mirror.

I'd love to watch a Wright SRM try to go under that at max speed.

My favorite part is when the driver floors it to run the red light, maximizing carnage.

The raising of the 11'8" bridge in late 2019 was watershed event that ushered in the disastrous year of 2020.
Don't believe me? Lower it back to the proper 11'8" and see what happens. |

Quoted: Quoted: The military likely had some say in the matter after that CROWS unit was destroyed a couple years ago. I very much doubt that. Not saying they were the only reason, or they forced it to happen, but I'm sure their complaints were pretty loud, and the raising project started only a few months later IIRC. |

View Quote I seriously doubt the unit made any complaints to the state, city, or county about the bridge. Likely there was a FLIPL finding the driver & vehicle commander at fault and docking them a month's pay each. |

View Quote That is great. Clearly there is a lot going on inside the freight car we cannot see. |

View Quote That is awesome, do the make them in a sulfuric acid version to dissolve the vehicle top before it crashes into the bridge? All vehicles can fit if you melt them down low enough. |
