Fuck. I have met John before. He was a great guy. He went out of his way to visit my place of work and look at my 1911 several years ago to fix the grip safety. We talked a bit about his detective work and concealment.
Recently my office had a shit ton of misaligned cut paper we were giving away a while back and he offered to take it but I'd already given it to the Boys and Girls club. He asked how my 1911 was but I'd sold it a while back and told him as much and said I still had a bunch of .45 ammo left from it and he was welcome to it if he wanted it but I never got a response. This was several months ago. I cannot stress how pleasant it was to meet him. What a fucking loss. If there's a hell, the asshole that murdered him is hopefully getting fed slowly into a wood chipper hourly. RIP John and it was a pleasure knowing you, however brief it was. Thank you for your long years in service to the community. I'm sorry that some murdering asshole form it repaid you the way he did.
