Reagan's botched response is part of the problems we have today in the middle east.

I remember Beirut and Grenada well. I was finishing my leave and the next stop was Germany. I truly thought we were going to war.

People walk around always saying
Never Forget. I agree with that. We must never forget, we must make sure our children, and their children and so on, never forget what happened to us. But we must also Never Forgive. We must teach our children and their children and so on, that we must never forgive the fucking animals that attacked us.
Never forgive the animals that hide behind a so-called religion of peace, but continue to butcher people in the name of their false god. Fuck them. Fuck their religion.
Fuck their false god. Our children and future generations must realize this and must never give up the fight against them.

Reagan trusted the wrong people, not realizing that State Department had no intention of recommending any action that would disturb their cash cow.

.gov has no incentive to resolve Arab/Israeli issues. There are too many bureaucrats whose income is derived from the conflict going on ad infinitum. Generations of suffering so .gov bureaucrats have a paycheck.

It's just another in a list of issues that .gov has no intention of resolving:
  • Propaganda of evil "assault weapons"

  • Fabricated reports of domestic terror cells by conservatives

  • "Remaking America" (into an autocracy ruled by leftist elites)

  • War on poverty

  • War on drugs

  • War on terror

  • Patriot Act

  • boogeymen with "near peer" militaries

  • Federal budget continuing resolutions

Supposedly, once the US Navy fired in support of the Lebanese Army, it became an active combatant rather than neutral peacekeepers.

RIP Brothers

I was on guard duty at 8th & I one year on the 23rd and a car drove by with a guy hanging out the window yelling something. I actually didn't think much of it and I think I gave the guy a thumbs up because he had a big red and gold USMC on the back.

Before I knew it the react team comes running up. The Marine watching the cameras thought the guy was throwing something.

I was like WTF is going on.

As a PFC with barely a year in the Army, I remember hearing about it but didn't get the big picture at that point.

A couple of weeks later I was in a place called Grenada with live ammo.

I started paying a little more attention......
