I found this 4" M&P in .32-20 at my LGS this morning. I traded a extra East German Makarov/holster/extra mag I had straight-up for it.

Serial # 117XXX

It was with it's original box but the box is in sad shape. Serial penciled on the bottom of the box.

All serials match including the service stocks with the serial penciled in.

I guess it's a Model of 1905, 4th change....The guys over on the S&W forum will be able to tell me what year it was made but I suspect it was made in the 30s. (Edit: Looks like sometime in the mid-1920s).

Even though I only gave $125.00 for the E.G. Mak I traded it was a wash worth wise as the E.G. Maks in most any kind of shape start at $400.00 now. lucky for me I found a mint example E.G. Mak last month for $225.00.

Very cool

I really wish that little cartridge was more popular than it currently is.

I still think a Uberti Cattleman SAA clone in .32-20 would be pretty fun

How the fuck are you supposed to attach a light to that POS?

Nice S&W revolver.   .32-20 Winchester seems like an odd bird.  Are you planning to reload?

Keep in mind that little "32" was one of the best performing pistols of it's day.  Before the 38 Spl really hit it's stride it was a common police gun.  (The 32-20 in a smokeless load is a better round then the 38 Long Colt or 38 S&W black powder rounds by a lot).

I have a about hundred loaded cartridges a buddy loaded up, or I can pull the bullets and deprime.
Pay postage and they are yours.
I can't seem to give them away here locally

I was going to convert them to 30 carbine but I have enough cases for that.

Meh, nothing "crazy" about it.

The trade was for a well used example I paid $125.00 in the 90s.

Last month I found a near mint EG example with a earlier date for $225.00.

So why not trade the lesser example Mak for a near excellent 1920s era M&P to build on my stable of 32-20 revolvers?

Thanks but I'm pretty much set on ammo as I bought-out the stock a LGS had when he closed his doors. I got a bunch of .38 S&W too.

I hate the op again.
I'd have traded a significantly less interesting mak for that S&W all day.

Awesome find.

FYI, a giveaway that a S&W was made in the mid-1920s is when there aren't S&W medallions on the grip panels. I have a Model 1905, 4th Change Target with the same grips that dates from the mid-20s.

Neat gun. I would have made the same trade although I have no use for a .32-20.

seems like you made a good deal. sweet mid sized gun that will be a great shooter. Ammo going on will be a irritation but not impossible.

Your real score was buying the Mak cheap before the value went up

The LGS just called and said I forgot the box of UMC ammo that went with it. Hell, I did not even know about it.

Damn OP, I'm jealous! I've wanted one of those to go along with my Marlin .32-20 but have never stumbled across one in a decent condition/price.

You've come up with some nice finds recently.

Sweet revolver.

38 Special is most too light.  32-20 will cut someone in half!
