It has presets that mimic particular environments where certain types of fish are from, but currently I'm using the plant setting. The colors are blended in with white which is the predominant one. The old one was just on a timer though - this one ramps up and down in the morning/evening which is much less startling and then it has a low level blue night phase so you can watch what they are up to. You can also use the pro function and change all of the settings (each color intensity) over ten time set points throughout the day. People have posted particular settings that are known to work better for certain plants etc., or you can accentuate e.g. red or blue colored fish.

Thanks - been going on for three weeks now and I was concerned because it was in the appendix area. She got a CT scan yesterday and all of her tests came back normal so she must have just eaten something bad or strained something.

The old (cheap) one must have been progressively declining but I didn't really notice until it started having startup issues. After the fact some cells weren't even on at all. It is a pretty deep tank so even when new I couldn't get red plants to establish, which are my favorites. Quite a contrast in intensity with the new one light. I think I'll have a lot more options for plants now.

Yeah, they were noticeably more active today, and other people say so anecdotally. Probably helps they could see where they are going though.

You filthy fucking tease.

I gave a conecuh that I picked up in Florida to the SIL who's house burned down.

Which is interesting...it's not a house, it is a second story condo and the damage was fairly isolated to the ceiling in the bathroom and was caught early enough that she got the FD there in short order. Sounds like it was a slow burn too. Fire guys on review said it could have been smoldering for years. Apparently there was a brief period in the early 70s when copper was in short supply and aluminum was used in electrical wires. I had never heard that. But apparently it is not the greatest. And her building has it. So now the condo is facing a bigger issue of the fire guys and the insurer possibly pushing to have wiring changed. For all units.

Anywho, she is staying with her parents and she cooked up the sausage with her dad. Said it was the best sausage she ever had. Which hurt a little, not gonna lie.

this is the same one that has spoiled me with bourbon from her travels and is always there for us.

So what could I do? What I had to do of course. I ordered the 12 pound variety pack for her.

And since I had to pay their rapey prices and rapey shipping, figured I would add some in for myself. Interestingly the increase in shipping for the first 3 12lb increments is smaller than the jump for the 4th 12 lb increment. Must require a second box?

So sausage incoming.

Not as good as Snowdens or Kelley I am told, but it will do I guess.

I dunno, I like them all. Conecuh is spicier. Snowdens is the milder one. I've had Hilltop before but they just started packaging it for sale in stores. Used to have to go to their market and get it. Not sure if it's the same.

Smoother. When I first got it, it was easy to get it to misfire and not always lock. Granted some of that could have been from a dirty pivot or even needing a slight adjustment. For $22, why not.

I actually have an unopened bottle that was given to me when my oldest kid was born. I figured I'd pass it along to her when she's of age. Just a kind of cool story, not that I think it'll get better or anything.  If I open the cardboard tube that the bottle came in, I can smell it and it smells awesome. Lol

Glad your wife is doing better...always sucks hard when someone you love is under the weather and all you can do is worry.

One of these days I'll nerd out on you and start asking what you're using for CO2 etc for the plants...reds are hard to grow.

Yeah, I know. Honestly it never should have been paved in the first place. There's probably 200 yards of it. I may get the house area done, or maybe down to the bottom of the hill some day, but the rest will certainly be left to turn to gravel. Can't really see plopping down $30K for it, being attached to a house out in the country. If it wasn't paved to start with I'd be able to get some crush & run compacted with a roller for $1K and it would last for years.

Appetizer was delicious....and not shown. It was so tasty it went fast. Flash fried Calamari with a spicy jalapeno lime zest.

It was amazing.
