Rittenhouse Rye is, IMO, one of the two pillars of rail rye, the other being Old Overholt. When I evaluate it, that’s what I’m gauging it against. It’s fairly unique in that it mixes fairly well with EITHER Coke or Pepsi. Not particularly good on its own though. I give the edge to the most recent releases of Old Overholt. Higher proof, non chill filtered, slightly tastier neat, but only mixes well with Pepsi. |
