They are a design company. Have their stuff made overseas. For the money there is better spec'ed knives out there, but if you like the design, then it is worth it.

What put me over the edge for the Ellis was when I got a discount.

OTTOMH

Easily available
ZT

Semi-available (regular drops but will sell out)
CRK
Hinderer
Koenig

Then you get to midtech stuff that's much harder to snag, and there are too many to really list but guys like
Les George
Jonathan McNees
Brad Southard
Demko

Of course there's the full production stuff, most of them have some models made here, some imported
Spyderco
Hogue
Kershaw
Microtech
Protech

You missed tactile.

I thought that would be a good replacement given what Wilson is asking for.

It looks good to me.
A bunch of this is subjective. ie- do you like it and does it meet your needs/desires?

I like the looks of the Barnes, the Kline,
the Ellis, the Pike, and I am really drawn to the Duval.

I read recently that US grocery stores are buying a jalapeño strain that was bred to not be the typical capsicum level that jalapeños are supposed to be.

I’ve come across some really weak ass jalapeños recently that left me disappointed because I was expecting heat and there was none to be found.

Looks nice but Spyderco’s implementation of the crucarta models on the PM type knives is lacking. The micarta is about a 1/32” thick and flexes due to the thinness. I sold mine. If it wasn’t wafer-thin I’d still have one.

Most of my grocery store jalapenos have been like that. The garden ones kick their ass. Should have delicious jaloros again this year, as well!
