I heated up a 10 penny nail head with a torch and put the pivot on that. Didn't want to goof up the scales. Then I squeezed the blade closed as tight as I could and it came out. Wasn't the Sigma though as the previous owner loosened it when he striped out the head.

We've already had a few nights in the 40's. Garden was all brown and not producing. Only carrots and beets left now.

View Quote Soldering iron actually works pretty well on small stuck screws in my experience especially when they are stuck due to thread locking compound. Just put your finger on the other end to see of the pivot screw to keep tabs on how fast it's heating up. |
