Went to see the 50th anniversary showing of Blazing Saddles tonight. Wife had never seen it . The only laugh out of her was during the toll booth scene.

I do not take part in such foolishness because it attempts to further remove the current and future generations idea of what drinking is supposed to be. It's not a game to be played by drinking fruit beers, or sours, or IPAs. It's serious business. Bars should be dimly lit, still allow smoking and have a bartender dressed in a tuxedo shirt with a bar towel on his shoulder. There's a jar of pickled eggs at the far end of the bar top that's been there since the Nixon administration. No TVs and the juke box is solely controlled by the old timers. Do not touch it. It's draft beer after draft beer only interrupted by the occasional shot of whiskey. THAT'S drinking. Life is good. |
