Great on oysters and in gumbo or on a shrimp po-boy. I don't care for the original Tabasco much either but their Smoked Chipotle flavor is another matter. Delicious in chili, stew, beans, tacos, burritos etc... For vinegar and red pepper sauce with BBQ, I love the original sauce at Southside Meat Market. Sprinkle that concoction over their hot-gut sausage and eat with a cracker. Oh man makes me want to drive out there tomorrow for lunch. |

My understanding is that QuikTrip opened its first Iowa location in 1974 and registered its first trademark in 1994. Kwik Trip registered its trademark in 1996, and in 2019 on the Kwik Star brand name to ensure its protection. Kwik Trip opened its first Iowa store in 1993 and elected to brand each of its new stores in Iowa as “Kwik Star,” likely to avoid claims of infringement on the QuikTrip common law trademark. As Kwik Trip expands into additional states, including Illinois and South Dakota, it is opening Kwik Star stores in those new states, instead of Kwik Trip stores. A common law trademark affords protection to a mark holder to the extent that the mark holder can prove it was the first party to use the mark in a certain territory. Since Kwik Trip was the first to operate convenience stores in Wisconsin and Minnesota under the Kwik Trip (or any other variation of the spelling) name, it has likely attained common law trademark status in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Same for QuikTrip in the other states. No agreement needed. |

Weird, wouldn't think it would make a difference. They are all running Windows. I guess the issues we have had on the Lenovos has been system related, not Windows stuff. End up working on the Lenovos more than the Dells. oh well. ETA: Looks like it is only the Lenovo Flex, not normal IdeaPads, but most of the ones we have are Flex... MGK, start with this one. Unless you have an Ideapad Flex. Then just give up now. |

OT - do I need a lawyer?
We have this bridge situation that has to be dealt with before they will bring propane across presumably. It is on a private road that serves four residences that all need fuel. We have always had an arrangement that repairs were split in 1/4s, but I'm not exactly sure what legal backing that arrangement might or does have, and it has all been very minor amounts in the past. No one is trying to get out of it (at least so far, but we haven't all talked), but how does it even work? I.e. I'm not putting up $60K or whatever it turns out to be and waiting for them to hopefully chip in and repay me. One has flood insurance so they will also have to be involved somehow. We need to move forward with it and others seem willing to slow roll it.

If it is not part of an HOA (or similar type group) with clear documentation, I would be looking at the land records next to see what there is in writing. If you know there is nothing in writing anywhere, then it is just whatever you guys amicably agree to.
The threat of litigation might make them move faster, maybe you could claim unjust enrichment if you have to shoulder the burden, but you have to keep living next to them too. A real estate attorney may be able to assist with the process and lend some gravitas, but it costs money. Try the talking and researching first. If the attorney is involved and there is nothing in writing previously, but they agree to something now, I would be asking for something in writing from the neighbors to govern this type of situation in the future. |

I can't even figure out how to navigate an amicable arrangement though. Do we need a trust or something? The contractor is going to want all the money and I'm only going to want to give a quarter of it. I.e. do you think a contractor is going to enter into a joint arrangement with four separate entities for one project? |
