When I started this job, we're "required" to wear gloves the entire time while we're working. Hands sweat like crazy doing the shit we do while wearing latex gloves and it softened my hands like crazy. One day the wife says "your hands are really soft". I pretty much stopped wearing them except for the really oily/greasy jobs.

Yeah, a good friend of mine is an auto mechanic. Not his favorite thing to wear gloves, but he likes it better than having his hands smell like grease all the time when he isn't in the shop.

Thanks!  The top one is a twin to this one that I finished a while ago.

This one will be finished differently. I think I'm going to use it in the kitchen.

I hear you on having enough handle. This one will be great to use, it just looks a little funny. I don't know if it'll look better or worse with handles on it though. Lol

Lava soap is the shiz for that. I never smell like anything from work after I shower when I get home. Except my boots that usually end up with some grease stuck to them.

I grew up in a farming community.  The farmers never thought they smelled like the farm when they were in town either....

ETA: also, there is this Mobil Marine Grease I use on certain things, I swear, nothing takes that smell out of your skin except time and exfoliation.

My go to is just bar soap and a nail brush.  It seems to work better than all of the hand cleaners I've tried.

I still have a bar of lava soap in the bathroom by the garage and I carry a jug of gojo in my work truck but they are more for a quick cleanup before eating or something.  "Real" clean hands (up to at least the elbows most days) comes from the nail brush in the shower after work.

Dawn and Goop are my go tos.

Well, and a nail brush. That does go a long way.

I can smell the soap on me, so I know I don't stink. Lava does exfoliate. Shits got some hardcore pumice in it. I wound up with grease smeared in my armpit today and it took it off like a champ.

Only a little, they're almost in between most cheese curds and actual cheese, not quite so rubbery. I really like them, good near-cheddary flavor.

He saw the price, apparently he hadn't researched that part. Settled on the USP 45 instead. Spent a bunch of money on a cool holster, mag pouches, and accessories. He was also fucking broke at this point as he wasn't working while in the academy and his wife was looking for a job. I had in fact offered to let him borrow my P226 (what SEALs were actually carrying) for a bit but he drank that HK coolaid. My lowly Sig was not good enough.

Gets hired a few weeks after graduation. They give him a choice of a Glock 22 or 23 to carry. No exceptions. He also tried to concealed carry the USP for a bit.

He's all pissed because he spent so much on the USP and gear. So I made him an offer just above what a gun shop would offer. He didn't like it.

Yeah, some guys spend alot of money on guns & gear either right when they get hired or before they get hired on someplace and then find out they cant use it or carry it.
One Dept I worked for had transitioned over from S&W 19's to S&W 4006's with a decocker/safety and a magazine disconnect. We had to carry it on safe, in a level 3 holster, (Safari Land 070 if you guys know what those are like). We could only carry a weapon that had a slide mounted decocker/safety. That left us with either the 4006 off duty, or a Walther PP. I didnt own a Walther, so I carried the 4006 off duty.
Never did like that gun.

My grandparents lived nearby a cheese factory. As a kid we used to go there for the "squeaky cheese" because if the curds were fresh and cold it would squeak in your mouth as you ate it.

They will probably follow up once they have more made in the next week or so.

I wouldn’t sweat it too much. They are a small operation. Good hearts. Excellent customer service. They just need time to catch up. If you don’t hear anything after a week, then follow up. If they said they will get you one, they will make it right.
