These are both family pieces. Came into possession about a year ago and got the chance to give them a decent cleaning today. Would have belonged to either my great or 2x great grandfather or perhaps one of their brothers. Gem Micromatic (1st version, approximately 1930 ETA: actually, more reseadch says 1931) and Ever Ready (patent date 1912). Now I need to get the correct blades and give them a try! Nice! I've never seen one of those before. Do you lay a full blade in there and then you can flip it to get a fresh side once one becomes dull? Or is it one you snap the blade in half? I have a couple of the Leaf brand "Twig" and "Thorn" razors that you snap the blades in half to put them in. |

I usually only shave the majority of my face during the summer, then rest of the year only the neck. At this rate, I'll be in the nursing home or dead before needing to buy more blades. |
