A woman pulled her truck into the space closest to the rest stop plaza. It had a sign marked:
For High Efficiency Vehicles Only. Must have Green Score of 45 or Better. I walked over to her and said: "That's a nice stiff 'Fuck You' to that sign." What did I mean? And what do you think her response was? |

I dislike it when random strangers try to speak to me. She probably didn't like it either.

I almost parked my VW TDI in one of those spots at work about 5 years ago. I thought my car qualified.
|
|
She thought you were a creeper.
ive also parked my CTS-V in a flex fuel spot before. |
|
When one of the grocery stores in my area put up signs for hybrid and “green” vehicles parking, i used to park my old blazer in them sometimes.
Once a woman parked a Prius next to me and gave me a real dirty look. When she got out of her car I told her “it’s ok I had the engine converted..... .. It runs on whale oil now.” |

Trucks are pretty efficient machines when you think about it.
|
|
I park in low emission vehicle and van/car pool spots all the time at work. My car is not low emission and I drive by myself.
|
|
How would one go about ascertaining the Green Score for a given vehicle?
|
|
I used to do that all the time in my 13mpg V8 at places like Best Buy.
I’ll never park in handicap, or the pregnant-women spots... but some BS like a “green” vehicle? F that. |

Guy that I used to work with had a dodge demon, he would say the car makes 840 horsepower and gets 15mpg, find me a more efficient car. A corolla makes 1/4 the horsepower but doesn't get 4 times the milage.

It is a highly efficient vehicle. Just not like clown who bought the sign thinks.

View Quote Obviously the demon isn't using all 840 horsepower all the time though and the Corolla will have to use a larger % of its available HP to do something like pass on the highway. At a set HP number both engines can obtain I wonder which is actually more efficient. |

I can park my 1994 Chevy V8 pickup there. That is it, all my future vehicles are going to be green.

My BMW 335d qualified as a green car so I got to park it in special spots when I worked on base. 425lbft. I loved parking next to all the Priuses.

My dad had a little hybrid sticker on the back of his Z06.
He would joke it burns gas and rubber. |

Discrimination is wrong.
The discriminatory practices of the efficient vehicle elite should be disregarded. |

A Corolla with 210 HP would probably be pretty fun, I'm guessing they are more like 120 HP tho. View Quote So say you ran both engines with a load to produce 150 HP for example. I wonder if they would both have similar efficiency/fuel consumption? |

This seems like it has the makings of a civil.rights lawsuit. On the one hand, their parking lot, their rules. On the other hand, discrimination...

She probably parked there because the handicap spaces were full.
