Nothing I can stand worse than a weak stream.
So I have been changing my showerhead 2 or 3 times a year.
I stick to the basic Waterpik Power Spray heads because they are cheap and the closest thing I've found to a pressure washer.
But the pressure drops off rapidly after a couple of months, and I assume it is because of all the nasty, sand-like crud that is deposited
in the spray hose when I take off the old ones.
It's city water, so I don't know if I should be worried about the quality of my water, or if this is just normal for the shower?
Maybe I should just clean the shower head out instead of replacing it?

What says the hive?

I clean ours by soaking them in white vinegar then using a brush of sorts.

I installed a whole house filter in my current house when I bought it, I'm on a well, but had the same issues as you, even had silt in the toilet tanks!

I have a preban shower head, and if it slows down, I soak it in clr over night.

You need a silt filter.

Have you tried pulling out the blue restrictor?

With it out a wayward spray on the bits is downright painful.

Easy to convert current shower heads to Preban shower heads.  Just remove the rubber flow restrictions and drill the 3rd hole.  (Just kidding about 3rd hole)

Have you had your water tested? Sounds like you need a sediment filter or possibly a water softener

Yeah I'd get a water softener and water filter combo setup. Call a plumbing company and have them test your water hardness.
