Sometimes you'll see posters jokingly identifying animals in threads as bobcats.  This could be from the bobcat vs. pitbull thread that went many pages.  But more likely is referring to a thread where someone posted a photo of a bobcat and set up a poll asking whether it was a cougar or a bobcat.  Much fail ensued.

You should add Molon to the ARFCOM 101 list. He has greatly contributed to the ARFCOM community.

What?!  Damn, I wish I knew about that after my friend's bachelor party.  Might as well be an STD, but less fun to catch.

This is an outstanding resource, mhoffman and worthy of a bump.

The only things I would add are:

Planes on treadmills
Arfrcom's fascination with possums
The epic lasagna thread

I second that motion.

If we had a "Ten Most Valuable Technical Contributors In ARFCOM History" award, Molon would certainly get my  vote (AFAIC, he'd be in the top five).

I third it.

One thread which was pretty funny, not sure of epicness...(ymmv)

"1775 Shot Heard Around the World - Arfcom Edition"

Short but funny and also resulted in the animated .gif of a powder horn with stopper flipping off.

Tribute to the old magpul clip flip .gif.

Classic Arfcom.

My sister sent me a Christmas card that had a bunch of glitter on the front. I opened it while sitting in my truck, and unknowingly got glitter on my dark pants.

When I got home, my GF was like...WTF?!! I was like, "hell, I don't know". Then, luckily, she looked at the card, saw the glitter, and we had a good laugh.

Could have turned ugly.

What's the deal with the "Herped and  Derped" shit I keep seeing.

Also what about the origination of the word "moar" ?  I assume because it has the letters "AR" in it?

Those are just internet-isms (and ones not rooted in ARFCOM).

Possum is more common.

Then there are the lasagna pictures.

Those are both arfcom originals, though they may have died out.

The opossum thing comes from hondaciv seeing one in his back yard and asking GD what it was, IIRC.
