What should I look for/know? Its pretty neat... I just show up, unlock it with my phone, and get to drive around for 2 hrs anywhere within 100 miles. Edit: .... and I pulled the trigger. Now we wait. |

The Tesla buying experience is so absurdly easy/simple compared to the bullshit regular dealerships put you through... If you know someone that already owns one, ask them for a referral code...It varies, but right now I think it's good for 2-3 months of self-drive for free, and your friend gets a few bucks as well. |

Which model? There’s really nothing to dislike in my opinion, unless you have some crazy long commute that may make charging an issue. I had a 26 Y AWD premium with the accel boost, one of the funnest cars I’ve ever driven. Was recently hit and had pretty bad damage, waiting to hear if they’re going to total it. I’m torn on replacing it with the exact same model, or getting a Y performance. |

Will see if I can do another test drive but with the premium maybe next week so I can compare. Not sure about timing on purchase either. Not too worried about snow or better acceleration. The range hit is mostly keeping me away from the performance. In normal times, I would make a commute from corpus to Houston 2 or 3 times a month. I think only the premium AWD has the range to do that on an 80% charge without stopping. Not that there aren't places to charge along the way. Buccees on 59 sw of Houston. But it would be nice to be able to make it all the way to/from my home charger without stopping. |

It’s been a good car for us these past few years but like any other car, it has its quirks and cons. The auto wiper function is terrible. The auto high beams enable by default, you can’t change the behavior. You can’t precondition the car remotely before heading to a supercharger. You actually have to be in the vehicle and have the supercharger as your destination. If you live a short distance to it, the battery won’t be sufficiently warmed by the time you get there so charging will take longer. Also, We have 2 young children and personally, I don’t think it’s a good family car. It’s too small and the ride too firm. A minivan is a much better choice. |

I'm in Wisconsin where we actually get such weather. These cars are so heavy down low that the extra isn't needed. They grip just fine without AWD. You can get it if you want, but it's by no means necessary. |

| 2026 Tesla Y Juniper model 2 wheel drive. when I bought mine they did not have a stripped down model so it has all the goodies. Perfectly happy with 2 wheel drive. I have a white interior and after a year it looks brand new. They told us to use baby wipes to clean it. Front windows are the only ones that need tint. Live in Dallas and we have had 100+ days all summer and you cannot feel heat coming in the glass ceiling. Put your hand up there and you can feel it so no need to buy an insulating panel. You will be amazed at the interior room front/ back. Adults are comfortable in the back. No dimmer switch for the headlights because the computers control that. They are great cars. |

| I can't get my wife past how they look. I think she has "brand snobbery" and I will have to buy another German car like the iX3 BMW instead. ALl I can say is the Tesla self driving feature is surreal and I really wish she would recognize how useful that would be for her since she can't follow a map or use a GPS. |

I was very impressed with fsd. Had it take me to 6th street to a record shop. It found an open spot on the other side of the street and parallel parked itself. Told it to take me to a park and it successfully reined in its bloodlust and avoided slaughtering the geese that were hogging the road. It got up on and off the interstate, no problem. I don't know if I necessarily NEED the extra range of the premium over the standard.... but I do need the butt coolers in my life. |

In the early model S you could get flip up rear facing seats with built in 5 point harnesses. Kids had to be under 4ft and have a strong stomach because riding behind the rear axle looking backwards was a recipe for motion sickness. Also, the ventilation didn't make it back there, so they were always hot or cold. Once the X came along, they nixed this option. |

I've heard this before. We have 2 model Y's. A 2026 Juniper and a 2024. Never had an issue with auto wipers. Perhaps it was corrected during a software update. |

I’m waiting on delivery this weekend of a Model Y AWD Premium. I’m super excited. Went back and forth between a 3 and Y then settled on the Y due to the extra space and versatility. Then among trims the Premium seemed like the sweet spot. I drove a friends and fell in love with it. He has an older generation and the FSD was still really impressive. |

Currently have four vehicles insured with them and when I went to replace one of them with a Tesla, my quote went up $1000 every six months I was in shock considering we have clean driving records. The added insurance cost was actually the reason we decided not to go with one at this time even though I would love to and it suits the driving style that I do. |
