James Cameron has a habit of making the USMC the bad guys in his movies. Up to and including the “Banana Republic” politics in “Pandora.” If you didn’t know, “Aliens” was his take on the Vietnam War. The Colonial Marines was the US Military and the Xenomophs were VC/NVA. Makes sense, commies are face hugging, chest bursting parasites.
But the best version of aliens wasn’t the theatrical version. The Wrath of Khan had a much smaller budget. |

Aliens. I’ve tried watching Wrath off Khan and can never get through it though it’s been years so maybe I need to give it another try. The Star Trek movies have always been cheesy to me, but I think mainly because they hold zero nostalgia. I never watched them.

The old Star Trek series is the best Star Trek. The fact that the Wrath of Khan was a sequel to an episode from that series is awesome.

The real question is what would the borg do? Could they assimilate them or would they just kill em all.
We know Picard would try to reason with, and after loosing half his crew would just go all Gangus Kahn and kill em all. Riker would try to sleep with the aliens. Worf would be in heaven killing them all, until he died mins later. Janeway would say fuck it and blow em all up in seconds. Wesley Crusher would come up with some sort new idea on how to box em in, and or liquify their dna. Then that would back fire and kill even more crew. |

They have no technology. If there was tech on the planet that the Borg wanted, then they would easily kill any aliens that got in their way. Of course, they could just scoop the tech off the planet from orbit, so they'd never need to encounter an alien. Might be some they lift into orbit, but they'd die just from that. Trek tech is way, way ahead of Aliens tech. It would be no contest. |
