I mean, there are good reasons why that may be the case, but the reason might steer to one solution over another. I have a VOIP number that normally forwards to my mobile. If I don't answer the VOIP service has VM that picks up before my phone's VM. I give my VOIP number to businesses. Close friends and family get my direct number. It costs me $30/year to have this extra layer. There may be cheaper options but that's cheap enough for me, especially since I can also make outgoing calls and send/receive text messages at the VOIP number. |

I absolutely despise listening to phone messages, when you clearly want me to call you back at the number you called from, or you would have texted me in the first place. 2) With the new corporate electronic surveillance rolling out to Flock systems & others, all consumer transmitter IDs will be logged as you drive/walk by. This is going to force me to tear apart my dashboard & remove the Bluetooth & Wi/Fi transmitters in my car, as well as my tire pressure monitoring transmitters in all 4 wheels. I'll also be turning off my phone when I travel so that I'm not emitting. Since I don't want to turn on TMobile voicemail, I'm looking for an alternate solution. Google Voice would do it, but I hate giving my callers' phone numbers to Google. |

There used to be companies called "answering service" that would store and forward voicemails, or have a pleasant person talk to the caller and take a message. There might be AI based or automatic versions of this by now. The key being they are not on your phone but got an accurate message, could relay outbound information and would make a record of the caller's number and name. I only know of doctors and lawyers using the service in the 80's and90's but they might be still around. |

I hate to break it to you (and this is all public info, so not putting any clearances at risk)........... your phone records all wifi and bluetooth names/MAC/GPS locations even when off or at low battery. Even when battery is too low to power the phone on. Once it is powered back on and connected to the network, it then uploads all this info. If you don't want it to track you, do not have it near you. Faraday bags MAY work, but not a lot of folks have the equipment to test them properly. TT |

i went a similar route. i use tello with the 2gb data plan. and zero minutes. then i bought 20dollars to go data. (So I can make calls if i need too) you can turn OFF VM. but it doesn't record the calls you get, your phone would have to be turned on to see the missed call if that makes sense. i think i followed you correctly |

The problem is the upcoming( (if not already ongoing) harvesting of your IMEI or IMSI as you drive past a Flock camera, so in the future while traveling I'll need to have my phone turned off. |
| You could run an anonymous Hotspot. It doesn't have your name attached to the Sim. Cell Hotspots don't have gps tracking. Run your phone in airplane mode attached to the Hotspot and use voip. You're phone won't give off imei or imsi in airplane mode. |

| Without a name to go with it what are they tracking? If you don't need service while in motion just use public hotspots. It will beome increasingly difficult to avoid being tracked. |
