Curious what others are using. Instead of giving out my personal number for accounts A generic number that can receive sms messages |
| Is this for a throwaway number or permanent? Do you want free or are you willing to pay for use? You could look at MySudo, TextNow, or Burner. I don’t have first hand knowledge of them but have heard people suggesting them. If I need alternate messaging I use iMessage, Google Voice, or WhatsApp but I don’t think that’s what you’re looking for. |

After a few YouTube videos I doubt I’ll use google voice. I’m not giving google my drivers license. I may try to upload my Ccdw permit instead. That may be the best solution txt now is full of ads which would annoy me This would def be long term. At work, for side work. Instead of providing my actual information an alternative number I can be reached at. I can work with dozens of people in a work week. They don’t need my personal contact information. I already use an alias iMessage account which works great. But not for android sms Also to lessen txt spam when purchasing online. Give a alternative number

Same, no way I would upload my license. I made one last year to use as a burner as I need my contact info on out Dirt Bike event flyer. Only issue I have is trying to answer a call, usually just return call after hearing VM. |

i understand their reasoning. to lessen spammer callers and whatnot i will just find a solution that doesn't require a DL>. even if its paid. which looks like the only route, which i am fine with discord was breached a while back. i mean who uploads a DL to a gaming chat app

Talkatone has to change settings that will keep you from using that particular feature of Continuity. Took me a while to figure that one out. |
