Any Motor Officers here?
Early in my career I got to ride motors for a few years. The Motor Officer school was the hardest training in my entire career. The issued bike was a Kawasaki KZ1000P, which was a great bike. I have also been on a few BMW's in both R and K versions, excellent bikes. Motor Officer school taught things that I never thought were possible on a full dressed road bike. The emphasis on slow speed obstacle work, obstacle avoidance, up & down stairs, figure-8's and circles not only on the flats but on steep hills, box and broad slides, and the day of taking the bikes to the motocross track and hill climbs was a real skill and confidence builder. The things they taught us and were required to pass motor school did come in handy many times. I am happy to say that I got to go through Motor Officer school a second time a few years later, and passed a second time as well, it was just as physical and mental as the first run, even though I knew what to expect, but the obstacles and skills course is always a challenge and should be something that is always practiced and honed.
