Any body set up a buy back of agency SBRs by to individual officers?

Fairly familiar with NFA we do shotgun and handgun buybacks for platform switches and retirements. Thinking about proposing an SBR buy back. Wondering if anyone had issues or had done it without much headache on the paperwork.

About 25 years ago, my department sold off a bunch of transferable machine guns to individual officers. It is very uneventful.

If they are A.R. 15 platform guns. It would be even simple just to pull the upper and lower.

Late to the party..
It's a simple F4 from the agency as the transferor and the individual officer/trust as the transferee.. agency retains the sbr until the stamps approved. Typically the agency authorized armorer would sign for the agency as the transferor.

It's actually a Form 5 since it's a transfer from a government agency and is tax exempt..

Moot point really as now there's no tax on SBR transfers, but ATF still considers a Form 4 a "Tax Paid" transfer.

form 5.
i donated a lower to work for the sro. then i built an sbr using a form 5. that was years ago.
sro program is going away so i am allowed to form 5 the sbr back to myself.

My department refused to buy SBRs because they claimed they'd be harder to replace at the end of their service life
