7 month project of upgrading from Dart LittleM 406 to ZZ572/720R is ready.

Basically everything in front of the firewall was replaced/upgraded.
Swap from stock subframe/steering/suspension to Chris Alston subframe/rack & pinion/tubular a arms/etc.

Was sbc 625hp/560tq @ 2802lbs with me in it.
Now bbc 727hp/685tq @ 2860lbs with me in it.

So +100hp, +120tq, + 58lbs

Car has ran 6.4x 1/8 mile for years and 6.41 last pass of last year,

Got it out to strip Friday for the first time and made three passes before rain.

Any guesses on ET gain?
I predicted a 6.28.

Should be going 6.05 as it was according to the calculator. Obviously that is perfect conditions and launch.
The new setup should go 5.79.
I'm guessing real world you should go 6.10-6.15ish if you get it all to hook.

Lots of variables on calculators. Gears being one. I’m still geared for 1/4 mile (even though I haven’t ran it in years) with 4.88’s. 5.13’s would definitely make a difference.
And it worked/hooked. The three passes had a 60’ variance of .004.

are those crank or tire numbers?

I'm going to assume crank.

So .3 to .4 quicker in quarter mile,  eighth mile .17 to .3 quicker.    How close am I ?

You will end up in the 6.0x range. Now get on a diet.

2710lbs for bbc/steel doors/steel rear quarters/steel trunk/stock type (allbeit aftermarket) front subframe is pretty decent IMO.

5.87 and +9mph in the traps is a nice bump! Looks like you've got the car dialed in well, those 3 runs were very consistent.

most of your gains were made in the 60ft.  make 60s equal, and it works out to a .2 gain.

Looks like you could have stood to leave harder on the old combo than you were.

My old 60’ seems very in line with all the other 6.4x cars that I’ve compared to over the years. My new 60’ is the same 60’ as a 5.65 car and  I’m leaving at a soft 4400 launch. Haven’t had a chance to see what 4600 & 4800 will do. While again lots of variables, that 60’ says either there’s another tenth or two in et to be had, or that this setup just 60’s very very well. But, this is bracket racing, and if i can have the 5.8x with continuing great consistency, that extra et can stay hidden for all I care, lol. The difference in feel from 6.40’s to 5.80’s is enough to keep me happy for a long while.
