Polymaker as a company is an active supporter of the firearm printing community and has excellent customer service. Their materials are generally good, maybe not the best but good enough. Many (but not all) of their products are made in the US. For those reasons I buy from them when I can. Yes they are more expensive but if you load up during their restock sales then the prices are very reasonable. I believe sunlu PA6CF has slightly better layer adhesion than fiberon but fiberon has better heat resistance. Don't quote me on that though. Look up the published specs that each manufacturer puts out in the TDS. |

I've used Polymaker (Fiberon), Sunlu, and Yxpolyer PA6-CF. Yxpolyer is the cheapest for a reason, printed like trash, only tried once. The Sunlu and Fiberon I've had good results with both. I prefer the finish of the Fiberon a bit more, and also I like their cardboard spools better for drying because at 100-C in my dryer, the Sunlu plastic spool will soften enough that it can unlock and separate and then you have a big mess. Now I just use the Fiberon and try to catch the sales they do to stock up. They also sell it in a 1Kg option now which saves you money per gram vs. the more common 500g size. |
