Reading that thread on games I remembered seeing the series in my Paramount line-up. I just watched the first episode and thought it was ok. I've never played the game. Halo The Series (2022) | Official Trailer | Paramount+ The guy playing Master Chief (MCPO?) usually plays bad guys! |

I love Halo and I'm not a perfectionist that can't stand adaptations typically - but this was garbage. I got about half way through the first episode and said forget it. If this was the highlight per others here, then I made the right choice. Really disappointing... The spoiler above is further evidence, as that is just plain pants on head retarded B.S.. |

If you haven’t played the games maybe it’s “ok” But it’s an abomination. The theory that it was supposed to be a mass effect show but they couldn’t get the rights… actually makes a scary amount of sense. These ads are better than any 10 seconds of the show.  Halo 3: Believe  Halo 3: ODST We Are ODST  Halo : Reach | Remember Reach trailer - long version XBox 360 And then there was this wonderful series of ads: Watching this one will make you realize how crap the show is.  Halo 3 Believe Campaign (FULL - All Interviews) One of the primary reasons video games fail as a TV show or movie is this. When you are playing a game, YOU are the character. In Halo YOU sacrifice yourself as Noble 6, you fight to save humanity as master chief, YOU fight impossible odds against a superior enemy. A TV show cannot capture that, because well it’s not you doing those acts. In the case of master chief him not having a shown face in the games tied into this too. Because you never see who he is, it can be you under that armor. The TV show showed his face in the first fucking episode. As a note the games actually have a rather large amount of biblical allegory in them. From Master Chief being “John 117” (John 1:17 “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” Master chief is a Jesus figure in the games, or if we take it to be revelations “Do not be afraid, I am the first and the last.”) to having an enemy called “the flood” which at one point wiped out almost all life. |
