 Battlefield 6 Official Multiplayer Gameplay Trailer Looks pretty sweet. Hopefully they don't royally screw this one up majorly like the last one. I've always preferred battlefield to call of duty and this is giving me hope. |

It looks good, there is no doubt about it. I am excited for it, but sadly will likely pass. Issues: Requires Secure Boot to be enabled to play due to the Javelin Anti-cheat. Their theory: Secure Boot will crack down on cheaters! Reality: It will have zero impact on cheaters. Secure Boot is not a good piece of tech. It has many vulnerabilities and posses high risk of data loss upon failure of Secure Boot. Meaning if you don't happen to have a way to recover the key if it does fail, and sometimes even with it, your data is gone. It is used as a target vector for many nefarious things, and there's no way around it. Secure Boot does nothing but cause harm. What would stop cheaters: Letting players RENT servers that they can moderate themselves. Let us combat the cheaters on our own servers that we pay money for. It's really that simple. |

I'm not here to proselytize. Just a word of warning for the very small number of Linux gamers here, this game will not play on Linux, due to the anti-cheat scheme used. Usage of virtual machines is unlikely. If you have a Windows install, just use that to play to avoid the headache. |

I played it a couple hours Thursday and about an hour yesterday. It seems like it will be a good game but it must need really fast internet/ latency speeds with this beta. I have Starlink and it works fine 99% of the time for online gaming. In this beta movement is just not very smooth unless I am playing servers filled with bots. I usually die before I see anyone at all. When I do see people it's like I am shooting at where they just were rather than where they are. I don't know something is fucky for me. I absolutely suck but I think it's internet issues. I played the shit out of many battlefields including BF 1 and 2042 so I am not a newb. I am 44 so my reflexes aren't as fast as a teenager but it just seems like I am delayed from what is actually happening by half a second or more. |

To me... Game sucks. Ive been nerding on BF out since 1942. BF3,4, and 1 and even Hardline are the last true BF entries into the series. The game is call of duty. The movement is retarded. Sliding shouldn't exist in it. I want to feel like im at fucking war. The vehicles are dollar tree brand nerf guns. The anti cheat is already cracked. Console players seem to have clear advantages in gun fights. The maps are too small. The destruction animations are nowhere close to Frostbite 2 or 3 animations. The game although in beta is not looking good to me. Its call of duty with vehicles. I still log daily hours with bf1 and I will continue to do so. |

I played a bit of the beta last night with the gang. If you like Battlefield, you'll probably like this one. I don't really know if it's for me, I haven't played a lot of Battlefield and I had a really hard time keeping up with things. Maps are big, lots of dudes on the map, lots of shit going on at once, it's very overwhelming at times. The close games where both teams are fighting hard over the objective are a lot of fun. The games where I feel like I'm constantly spawning and dying repeatedly without making any progress, not so much. |

I've played about 15 hours so far, it feels a little faster pace than earlier Battlefield games (excluding that POS 2042). Vehicle mechanics re the same as I remember, snipers just as frustrating as before. I am not seeing stupid COD bullshit like sliding around corners and crap, no stupid jumping and other goofy shit. gripes/concerns: the class system is back but they do not limit weapon type use across others.. it's kind of nice but also removes one of the nice things about earlier BF games. latency processing still seems off. I have fiber internet and still get snuffed by other players when it feels like I should have won the gunfight (might just because I'm in my 40's and not as reactionary as before. lol). I really really hope they bring back Hard Core mode, that made the game great before. I shouldn't hit someone half a dozen times with an LMG and get smoked by a couple of rounds from their rifle. Overall I really enjoy it. we'll see what happens with full release. I'm still not giving them pre-order money. |

All three are physical, not digital copes of the games, so while the publisher has gotten their money, if the game is crap I can use it as trade fodder. 3. I'll do what I want with my money, thank you. While I'm aware that many, if not all YouTubers are given early access for commercial reasons, I saw nothing in the gameplay that really concerns me. At 46, I don't have time to be a hard core gamer that is going to notice every single bug for the maybe 2 hours a week I have a chance to hop on line and get my butt kicked by 13 year olds. I preordered this physical copy to make sure that I had a chance to play it at launch, no other reason. I don't care about the silly skins, or whatever else I got for preordering. Preorders don't push microtransactions. Players paying real money for "coins," skins, weapons, etc is what has always driven that. What drives preorders is the sense of "I got it first" that excites some folks. And while I agree that there are more physical copies to go around, and preorder might not be necessary in 2025, for me its a nice reminder that there's a game being released that I want. While I enjoy the heck out of playing a fun game, I'm not 22 any more, and have far more important things to try to keep in my TBI addled brain than "ooo, videogame." At least with my preorder at GameStop, I've now got a receipt taped on my desk as a reminder. |

I'm definitely worried about the available multiplayer content at release. By the end of the beta last night I've clocked maybe 10-15 hours at most over the past two weekends total, and I'm absolutely burnt out. The claims of the beta leaving a lot of content out are questionable. I do know there's 9 maps planned at release, and we've only got a chance to play 4 of them, but I'm still having my doubts. There's also another set of Training Options for every class that we didn't get to try out. For examples, Support has the Fire Support training option we didn't get to try out instead of Combat Medic, and Recon has Pathfinder. Considering the theme of the beta cosmetic unlocks involve a bunch of bats with night vision, here's to hoping we have weather effects and nighttime versions of every map. Unfortunately I think they're just teasing one of the groups you work with during the campaign, which I'm assuming is called "Bat Company" based on the named dog tag along with the bat themed stuff. Who knows though; that could just be because BF6 releases in October and they're going with a Halloween theme. |

I’ve just learned through enough botched releases or outright marketing lies that I don’t buy games at release anymore. The last one I did was MW19, and the campaign was long enough and good enough that it held me over while they smoothed out the initial bugs. I don’t see the “sub-six hour” campaign in BF6 being good/long enough to do that for me, so I’ll be waiting several months to see if the devs actually do what they say they’ll do. But that’s just me. After a few more hours of playing yesterday, I’m not impressed. It plays like a re-packaged COD to me. Maybe a few months post-release will help, but I’ll wait. |

I played the pre-alpha and both beta tests. There's a lot I like about BF6, and a few things I don't. I'm sure I'll end up buying it at some point, probably even at launch. I'm not going to pre-order though, I just don't care about the cosmetic rewards. I did see some bunny hopping/sliding/zany movement exploits, but DICE has promised to patch that shit out. Helicopter controls were horrible IMO, I love zipping around in the Nightbird on 2042. Heli's die fast. Maps shown were definitely infantry based, nearly no room for ground vehicles to do anything but die quickly. |

Loaded up 2042 to prep for BF6 launch (and unlock some free BF6 cosmetics) since the game is free on Game Pass. Wow, the character selection thing is dumb. I always gotta pick specific named characters to play for their perks? Awful. Oh well. Gonna try to get the controls as close to BF6 as possible to practice. |

The first weekend of beta release, I enjoyed the shit out of it. I like most things about the game. Won a couple, lost a couple. This last weekend of beta, I almost rage quit lol. Spawn-die. Spawn-die. Hit markers from an LMG, they kill me with two shots from a pistol. Losing matches that were insanely overkill, like 0-742 in one on conquest mode. Didn't win one match. I was getting killed before I could see the enemy player. It was wild. I dunno if the hacks had it figured out by then or what, but I hope to hell the developers fix or squash whatever that was. |

My only concerns with BF6 is that EA is being bought out by Saudi Royalty, Trump's Son in law, and other private equity firms. EA itself will be saddled with a $20 billion loan, the interest on the loan likely to be $1.5 billion yearly or higher assuming interest rate is at least 7.5%. EA has a base, net income after all expenses of around 300~800m regularly, low end vs stellar high end. So how will they pay the interest alone? It worries me. We will see, Shareholders and powers that be need to agree to it for it to go into effect Q1 2027. If they can't service the loan, they will sell assets. The future of BF6 is kind of in limbo now, as EA themselves host the servers instead of player hosting it, meaning if they shut servers down due to funds, bye bye BF6. |
