I watched Battlestar Galactica (2003) miniseries when it aired, 21 years ago.
Being a fan of the original as a kid, I was really excited about it. I enjoyed it tremendously. I watched again this weekend. Still good, but not quite as good as I remembered. Special Effects are a little dated, but that is OK. What do you expect? Now I think it is a little slow, and I don't really like all the flash backs. I think the bar for 'cable' productions has been raised since then and stories can flow a little better now. (when they WANT to make quality). The Miniseries is good, and there is some good stuff in the following series, but it tends to wander a bit. Not really good enough for me to watch the whole series again What we really need is another Tricia Helfer, and a show built around her! |

Series went off the rails after about 2 seasons... turned into Days-Of-Our-Lives/All-My-Circuits in space complete with amnesia! and supernatural bullshit.
It's tough to stay engaged when your protagonists are not just gray anti-heros, but are such awful people that you think "yea... you all deserved the Cylon genocide" |

I had a similar experience. I thought it was great, but lost interest upon trying to watch it again.
Maybe the mystery was part of the appeal the first time. |

They want you disarmed, because they know they are guilty of things for which they should be shot.

First few seasons were awesome. It got a bit weird after that...

I liked it then, I should rewatch it. Last one I watched of that series was the Blood and Chrome standalone.

I will watch it but knowing the ending and how much I still hate it ruins it for me.

I didn't really like the part where they settled on the crummy planet and were drawing a lot of parallels to the insurgency the U.S. was fighting at the time. The Adama Maneuver was cool, but don't the Vipers have FTL anyways? Couldn't they have jumped in themselves? and the Pegasus stuff was neat, obviously. I think I stopped watching about the time they found some Cylons dying from a virus. |

Decent special effects. Nonsense plot, attractive actors and characters who with the exception of Bill Adama. Come across as all being homicidal malfunctioning toasters.
The ending it had was inevitable. One can only build so much bullshit until it collapses in on itself like a singularity. |
|
It’s… probably not as bad as you think it is.
|
the mini-series was a 2 part TV movie and the pacing is perfect for that. there was no guarantee that it would even get picked up. Unlike most shows, the 1st season is actually the strongest. There's a lot of tension built into it
|

|
There were some really good episodes.
33 is my favorite. Where the Cylons would jump in every 33 minutes and it was Launch Fighters every single time. |

I really enjoyed it when I first watched the series a decade or so ago, but when I went to try to rewatch it recently I gave up before the second season finished. It is slow, a lot of the drama seemed forced, and many of the characters make shockingly stupid decisions on a regular basis to facilitate the plot.
ETA: The miniseries is still epic. I love the drum music track and still find myself tapping it on my legs when I'm bored. |

My guess is that she's spent years overtraining (she's a PT fiend) and hitting the dieting hard (not like anorexia or an ED, but just constant CICO to keep weight down). She also had her thyroid removed (cancer) at the tail end of filming BSG, which can whack your metabolism. So the aging/face changes is basically Hard Living, but not the usual smokes & whiskey variety. |

Great show when they got around to doing something besides sit around and talk about boring crap..
Also, if I was the space CAG I would have thrown Starbuck out an airlock before the first commercial break in the pilot. |

I enjoyed it when Admiral Cain calmly dissected Galactica's logs, pointed out every awful leadership mistake that Adama made to his face and stopped...that...shit...rightfuckingnow.
So Adama conspired to murder her and commit treason. |
