It has comedic supporting roles and strong characters. Doc is one of the best character arcs, when we meet him he is a drugged up hippy and over the seasons he gradually accepts his role as a responsible leader. Like any good zombie story it wasn't afraid to kill off main characters, and it usually happened after we were emotionally invested in them. And nearly every crazy plot line has been stolen by TWD and FTWD. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. |

Romero original trilogy.
28 Days/Weeks (Not zombies, but still same genre.) Fulci's Zombi Train To Busan/Seoul Station. Lenzi's Nightmare City (Not zombies, but still same genre, and good cheesy fun.) Dawn of The Dead Remake was fun, Crazies remake was better. Shaun of the Dead > Zombieland. (Never saw what people liked about Zombieland. Not funny or scary, IMO.) |

I voted 28 Days later because I think it is the best. I really like World War Z and Train to Busan though. I was shocked how good the Train to Busan was. I have watched World War Z the most, because it never gets old for me, I like the speed of the Zombies in that one kind of reminds me of the Extinction Cycle Books. They would make an unreal set of movies if done right.

If you like zombies....
Check out the We're Alive podcast story. Pretty entertaining. Listened to it on an ear bud at work to pass some time. Never got how people used to listen to radio shows until I gave that a try. ETA Its free on Iheart but you have to search for it. May come up under the sequel "Lockdown" Which is pretty good too. |
