I have the JBL Party Box 1000 and 300. Top tier. Huge sound. 10 out of 10.

Not sure how big the space is, but I have a Sony XG500 and it is great. You can pair them up as well and have multiple speakers running wirelessly. You can get them much cheaper on eBay used compared to new. Can also be used as a guitar amp which is cool.

Depending on how you will use it, I'd consider a demerbox www.demerbox.com and I think they sell on Amazon also.   It's lightweight but puts out a bunch of sound with good bass.  I've had one for a couple of years and am very happy with it.

Check out Harman Kardon, JBL, and Sonos (wireless, not BT).  The big ones get expensive quick.

If you’ve already got a decent stereo or set of speakers you can add a Bluetooth receiver or amp for $20.

Budget? Plug in wall speakers only and/or battery speakers? How portable? I have several UE hyperbooms and megabooms, you can link over 100 of them, it gets pretty damn loud when you have 10+ speakers all synched. 2 hyperbooms can fit in a carry on and work great for the beach where there's not an outlet to plug them in.The JBL offerings are also loud but there's limitations on which speakers can link together.

Ultimate Ears Hyperboom... Loud and good quality sound. Link up to two. These fucking rock with quality sound.
JBL Charge 4 for a smaller speaker but you can link up to 99... I link four.

I heard a UE Hyperboom at a pool party and was super impressed how good it sounded. Clear and lots of bass, even outdoors.
