We're talking about a legendary American brand that's almost 150 years old, and that only went woke very recently. There are a whole lot of businessmen and workers out there that have spent decades investing and laboring just for this to hit the fan, and this guy is one of them. They can say and are saying "we don't agree with this," but they still have to make a living. Switching brands is probably a long shot at best for these independent distributors. Is he supposed to shut down is company, fire his employees, and sell his assets? What do you want him to do? I'm all for consequences being felt by AB and Budweiser corporate, but these independent guys are getting killed by collateral damage, and they didn't really do anything to deserve it. Which ones? The other brands that already have distribution in their area? These guys are screwed. It’s not an American brand and hasn’t been for over a decade. This is just more proof. That's fair, but there are a lot of good people who have been around longer than that and that are caught in the blast of this mess. |

Speculation time...
We've seen lots of anecdotal evidence of beer displays being cleared of some brands while piles of AB products sit with big discounts. We've heard of bars and restaurants ditching certain AB lines. We've heard stories of guys giving each other a hard time over drinking AB beers. But, we've seen numbers put the sales losses at only around 20-25%. I'm not sure that adds up. Is AB playing with the numbers in a really big way, or are lefty populations really buying that much of their beer still? |

But losing a quarter of their sales in the blink of an eye will hurt them badly. Remember they're still paying for infrastructure, utilities, salaries, equipment, ads, etc. I'd bet the cost of the ingredients in the beer itself is a small fraction of the total cost of a can. Just a guess that their net margin is in the 20s? So they're now bringing in 75 cents in sales vs $1 in sales last month, but their expenses are still 75 cents. Ooooops. Uh oh! |

FOUND FOOTAGE: Bud Light Parent AB InBev Commits to Purging White, Male Employees. by Jake Welch ·May 18, 2023 bud light Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of Bud Light, has pledged to purge its white, male employees in an effort to have a “more diverse and inclusive environment,” according to footage found on the company’s website. The company has seen its sales collapse since the disastrous Dylan Mulvaney advertisement campaign which wiped billions off the firm’s value, and chased millions of customers away. In the video, one employee of Anheuser-Busch explains, “we’re still 40 percent women, and 60 percent men, still predominantly white: so there’s still work to be done.” The “work” to be “done” is apparently replacing white male workers with alternatives. In doing this, another employee says, “I feel like I finally found my voice as a black woman, and I’m not prepared to lose it.” Discussing the #CheerstoDiversityAndInclusion campaign, Anheuser-Busch’s European Diversity and Inclusion Manager, Lara Laila Gärber explains, “at AB InBev, what we wanted to do is ensure that diversity and inclusion is fully integrated in our business strategy.” WATCH: Anheuser-Busch InBev 5.33K subscribers To a Future With More Diversity, Inclusion, Cheers. According to a Target insider, locations in the South and rural America are eliminating contentious LGBT-themed merchandise before June Pride month to prevent further outrage. Products ranged from gender-neutral coffee cups to “tuck-friendly” bikinis for transgender persons. According to the insider, the rationale for the sudden change is “to avoid the kind of backlash Bud Light has received in recent weeks.” The insider claimed that last Friday, a “emergency” conference call was made with store managers and senior district directors to destroy Pride sections on retail floors in order to avoid a sales-slamming catastrophe similar to the 24% hit Bud Light has suffered. And this is all happening after Cornell, the CEO of Target, spoke last Wednesday about embracing woke capitalism. Such a significant policy change probably indicates the retailer is afraid of a “Bud Light moment” or has already noticed sales trends that indicate a boycott. Boycott Target. #boycotttarget pic.twitter.com/h36jVKEb1M — Mike Anderson (@MikeSmalltalk) May 17, 2023 “Corporations have freedom of speech under the First Amendment but have to understand if their political ideologies don’t align with customers, then the people also have freedom of speech to voice their opinion. That’s why corporations should probably stay out of identity politics or risk pissing off both sides, because what Target did by moving pride products to the back and scaling down the section will likely spark outrage in the trans community,” Zero Hedge noted. Did companies learn anything from Bud Light, or are they oblivious that their woke marketing is corporate suicide, as these ideals and beliefs don’t resonate with most consumers? Early in May the makers of Bud Light came under fire from Donald Trump for catering to “the radical Left” after using a notorious transgender influencer to market the well-known beverage. The former president criticized the beer’s parent firm, Anheuser-Busch, for hiring male Dylan Mulvaney after he gained notoriety for capturing his gender change on TikTok. Trump complimented a conservative author in a post on his Truth Social platform. The author recently dubbed the ad campaign “a woke, clueless, incredibly dumb miscalculation.” ‘It’s time to beat the Radical Left at their own game. Money does talk—Anheuser-Busch now understands that. Great new Book by Wayne Allyn Root. Buy your copy today!’ Trump declared. ‘The Great Patriot Protest & Boycott Book’ was written by Root two years ago, and he has long been a devoted admirer of the 45th president of the United States. Root advocates that consumers should “defund leftist woke companies.” ‘In short, conservatives and patriots must wield the power of the purse. Money talks. We have the power to change the direction of this country by changing the direction of corporate policy,’ Root proclaimed. When Mulvaney received a commemorative can featuring her visage to honor her “365 days of being a girl,” the Bud Light debate was set off. Mulvaney revealed her intentions to transition last year, and in December 2022, she underwent invasive facial feminization surgery. In the horrifying procedure, a patient’s face’s bones are cut out and sanded down in an effort to soften male characteristics. Conservatives and normal sane people, however, were incensed by the PR gimmick and charged the company with interfering in one of the most contentious culture war issues. Sales of the beer instantly fell by more than one-fifth, raising concerns that the boycott would have a permanent negative impact. Anheuser-Busch lost $6 billion in market value in just six days as a result of the video. A worker collects shopping carts in the parking lot of a Target store. The move comes ahead of Pride Month, which is celebrated in June. | David Zalubowski/AP Photo By Kierra Frazier 05/24/2023 09:31 AM EDT Target is pulling some of its LGBTQ merchandise ahead of Pride Month after facing “threats” and backlash from customers, the company said Wednesday. Target’s website features hundreds of Pride items as part of its Pride Collection but will be pulling some of those items due to “threats impacting our team members’ sense of safety and well-being while at work.” “Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior,” the company said in a statement. It’s unclear which items Target plans to pull. The move comes ahead of Pride Month, which is celebrated in June. Target has recently received attention for its “tuck friendly” women’s swimsuits that allow trans women who have not had gender-affirming operations to conceal their private parts. Much of the social media frenzy came from users who falsely claimed the suits were designed for kids or in kids’ sizes. The “tuck-friendly” swimsuits are only offered in adult sizes, according to a spokesperson for the company and Target’s website. Kids’ swimsuits in the collection do not feature this label. On Twitter, California Gov. Gavin Newsom accused Target chief executive Brian Cornell of “selling out the LGBTQ+ community to extremists.” “This isn’t just a couple stores in the South. There is a systematic attack on the gay community happening across the country,” Newsom said. Bud Light faced similar backlash in April after the company partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. The Associated Press contributed to this report. Media Published May 24, 2023 11:00am EDT Beer industry 'in shock' that Bud Light backlash continues as expert warns of supply shortages of rival lagers Increased interest in Coors Light and Miller Lite could lead to supply shortages, expert says By Brian Flood | Fox News Beer industry ‘in shock’ that Bud Light backlash continues, expert says Beer Business Daily's Harry Schuhmacher says the rest of the beer industry can't believe how long the backlash to Bud Light's transgender influencer partnership has lasted, and it's had economic effects. The entire beer industry is floored that Bud Light is still taking heat over its now-infamous promo with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney and the backlash has put rival beers in high demand, according to the publisher of prominent trade publication Beer Business Daily. "The whole industry is in shock. Even Bud's competitors aren't really dancing on the grave because they know it could have happened to them," Beer Business Daily editor and publisher Harry Schuhmacher told Fox News Digital. "This particular promotion just really struck a chord. It was just a bridge too far, apparently, for consumers… we’re in week six and it doesn't look like it's getting any better," he continued. "In fact, the numbers just keep getting a little worse every week… down in the 25% area. And their competitors are up almost just as much, and that's continuing through today." Bud Light continues to face backlash more than a month after its polarizing pact with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney prompted outrage. (Getty) Schuhmacher, who regularly speaks to beer distributors across North America, believes newfound demand for light lagers that aren’t owned by Anheuser-Busch could result in a trickle-down effect on the industry. Molson Coors, the parent company of both Coors Light and Miller Lite, might not even be able to supply enough beer as Americans enter a holiday weekend that unofficially kicks off the start of summer. "You can't just flip a switch and make beer. You know, beer is brewed. It takes, you know, at least a couple of weeks to make. So, they haven't had major supply issues yet, but we're about to hit Memorial Day and we could probably see some supply shortages there," Schuhmacher said. Molson Coors told Fox News Digital there are no out-of-stock concerns ahead of Memorial Day Weekend because inventory was built up over the winter. Schuhmacher explained that Anheuser-Busch has begun buying back unsold, expired beer from distributors, which brings much relief as those are the people who normally bear the brunt of the costs when a product isn’t purchased. While it’s a step in the right direction, distributors who rely on Americans purchasing Bud Light will continue to suffer. "The sales are just still plummeting down," he said. "Keep in mind, this is the beginning of the beer-selling season. We sell beer in the third quarter, and we're about to hit Memorial Day," Schuhmacher continued. "With these trends, it's starting to be material for AB's bottom line, at least in the United States and North America." Schuhmacher feels that Anheuser-Busch’s parent company, InBev, has kept a low profile during the weeks-long saga wile hoping it "blows over" while simultaneously increasing the marketing budget and offering heavy discounts at retail. "Their experience tells them that you don't want to add to the conversation and add to the noise, because then it just repeats the news cycle," he said. "Boycotts like this usually do blow over… fairly quickly, within a couple of weeks or so. So, this is really unusual to go into two months." Schuhmacher, who has worked in the beer industry for over three decades in multiple positions and has published Beer Business Daily for 20 years, believes backlash will eventually die down, and Bud Light will stay on top despite long-lasting scars. "I think there is probably a degree of permanent damage to the brand. But in the long term, things usually revert back to the mean," he said. The appetite for news and analysis of the Bud Light debacle is still strong, and Beer Business Daily, a niche publication which focuses on the North American commercial beer industry, has exploded in popularity. "We haven't really seen it since 2008 when Miller bought Coors, or they merged and InBev bought Anheuser-Busch. So, yeah, there's tremendous interest in this and our traffic on our website is blowing up," Schuhmacher said. "It's a story that just won't die." As conservatives have distanced themselves from Bud Light, retail juggernaut Target has found itself in a similar boat. Target is under fire for over-the-top LGBTQ Pride displays, and the store has been widely criticized for including children’s products and "tuck" friendly bathing suits. Some Targets in rural areas were forced by corporate rulers to move the Pride sections to less-trafficked areas of the stores because executives feared a "Bud Light situation" emerging, an insider previously told Fox News Digital. Schuhmacher understands why the beer giant has caught more flak up to this point. "In the public psyche, Bud Light has always been considered so much of a deep Americana, middle America, working man and woman's beer. And when you just flip that completely on its end, it's hard for the consumer to swallow," he said. "I think the difference, you know, Target is more geared towards women, high-end middle American women," Schuhmacher continued. "But Bud Light is not that far in the middle of the spectrum, at least in the consumer's mind of where it's supposed to be." Brian Flood is a media reporter for Fox News Digital. Story tips can be sent to [email protected] and on Twitter: @briansflood. View Quote "The whole industry is in shock.
And their competitors are up almost just as much, and that's continuing through today." Schuhmacher, who regularly speaks to beer distributors across North America, believes newfound demand for light lagers that aren’t owned by Anheuser-Busch could result in a trickle-down effect on the industry. |

Quoted: Speculation time... View Quote IMO 20-25% is huge. One out of every 4 of their customers has quit the brand, and that's without relentless advertising telling them to. Some significant portion of their customers supports the faggotry. But there is also going to be a portion of them who simply have not heard about this yet. I'd expect the number to go as high as 30% before most people stop caring and forget. But they have permanently lost a small percentage of people with long memories who will go out of their way to never buy from AB again. |

‘There is a subset of American consumers who will not drink a Bud Light for the foreseeable future.’ Anheuser-Busch InBev’s U.S. profits may tumble, JPMorgan says Last Updated: May 23, 2023 at 7:33 a.m. ET First Published: May 23, 2023 at 5:57 a.m. ET By Steve Goldstein Referenced Symbols ABI -0.80% BUD -1.42% The controversy over briefly having a transgender influencer promote Bud Light may hit U.S. profits substantially at Anheuser-Busch InBev this year, a new analyst note concludes. JPMorgan analysts led by Jared Dinges say they now expect earnings before interest and tax in the U.S. to slide 26% this year, on a 12% drop in volume and a 10% decline in sales. They note that the latest NielsenIQ data, covering the week to May 6, showed Bud Light sales down 23.6% on a 27.7% drop in volume. “We believe there is a subset of American consumers who will not drink a Bud Light for the foreseeable future,” they say. Bud Light sales have deteriorated following a social-media campaign featuring trans activist and actress Dylan Mulvaney. The Wall Street Journal reported that the brewer plans to buy back unsold Bud Light cases that are past their expiration dates from wholesalers. The JPMorgan team say they don’t expect sales to be recovered in fiscal 2024. That said they say the stock is pricing in a 45% drop in U.S. EBIT, and in addition, the company should see margins improve as costs per liter decline and that shareholder returns may be boosted as the company deleverages its balance sheet. “While we understand the hesitancy to add to ABI positions before we have more clarity on the U.S., based on the recent data and our scenario analysis in this note, we believe risk-reward is favorable from here,” they say. Brussels-listed Anheuser-Busch InBev ABI, -0.80% shares rose 0.6% on Tuesday but have dropped 3% this year. U.S.-listed shares BUD, -1.42% have weakened by 2%. This is the last thing Target (ticker: TGT) needs right now, as question marks continue to hover around consumer discretionary spending. Shares are currently down for five days in a row, according to Dow Jones Market Data. Earlier this month, the retailer delivered an earnings beat for its first quarter, but warned of a sales slowdown ahead. Target has sold products for Pride Month—which takes place in June—for years. This year, however, reactions seem heightened as other companies, Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD) being the most prominent, struggle with a similar backlash. Over the past several weeks, Bud Light has seen sales volumes fall, illustrating lingering pain points from a controversial social media promotion that featured Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender influencer. Bud Light sales volumes slid 28.4% in the week ended May 13, a sharper decline than the 27.7% drop recorded the week prior, according to Beer Business Daily, Barron’s reported. Shares of Anheuser-Busch InBev fell 1.6% to $57.80 in Wednesday trading. So far this month, the stock has shed more than 11%, putting in on pace for its worst month since July 2021, when it dropped 12.5%, Barron’s reported. Target stock fell 2.6% on Wednesday to $143.29. Quoted: 25% overnight is a biblical drop. That's end of days stuff. There are still plenty of people who just don't care, or they see these massive sales at the store and buy a couple cases. But losing a quarter of their sales in the blink of an eye will hurt them badly. Remember they're still paying for infrastructure, utilities, salaries, equipment, ads, etc. I'd bet the cost of the ingredients in the beer itself is a small fraction of the total cost of a can. I saw a case of cans being pushed in a shopping cart in the bread aisle today.
Middle aged woman with a bright blue case of BL. It was the only beer purchase I happened to notice, maybe because there was little else in the cart and the case was recognizable from 50' away. Store is selling the stuff for $3.50 after rebate. Miller/Coors is $13.50 AR. Went to a graduation party last week, along with several coolers of Coke products there was a cooler with Oberon and Miller Lite in it. I don't know if that's a reflection on the host's personal taste in canned beer, or if they might have chosen something else a couple of months earlier. |

So the otherwise non political normies ... humor there for the mead crew ...
Have noticed (warning, dudes fake-acting like girls in short clips to establish some points in the video, as always it's disturbing): From BAD to WORSE for BUD LIGHT as ESG-rating is SLASHED!!! TLDR ... The backlash from *the left* against inbev and AB could potentially put their credit line with the ESG funds in real risk ... which means Inbev/ab would have to pull out every single stop for pride month... and in doing that, ticking off MORE customers, and making the numbers worse. Or, if they don't, and they try and walk it back (even worse, do so half-heartedly) and their credit lines take a hit because they got a lower ESG rating ... The only way to win, is to not play the game. The only way to not play the game is to tell the leftist revolutionaries to take a hike and never give them what they want. Of course, to stop playing the game right now, AB would have to expunge their DEI department and all the crusaders and inquisitors who run it. AB/inbev might actually get what they deserve for being on the ESG extortion funds, if the customers keep pummeling them. |

Quoted: Not far from me. Bud Light Distributor Sends Out Public Plea to Bring Back Customers A Bud Light distributor in Alabama issued a public plea to bring back customers who boycotted the brand after it produced a can with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney's face on it. Steve Tatum, with the Montgomery, Alabama-based Bama Budweiser distributor, deployed a radio advertisement for several area stations, pleading with customers to purchase Bud Light again. In April and during the first week of May, sales of Bud Light were down significantly, and sales of other Anheuser-Busch products also dropped amid the Mulvaney backlash. "We too at Bama Budweiser are upset about it and have made our feelings known to the top leadership at Anheuser-Busch," Tatum said in the ad, according to multiple news reports. "The voice of the consumer has been heard, and Anheuser-Busch has taken action." '#BudLightPartner' Like Anheuser-Busch's leadership, Tatum also tried to distance Bud Light from Mulvaney, a biological male who had posted the custom-made Bud Light can and used the hashtag "#BudLightPartner" in early April, drawing significant ire from consumers and conservative celebrities. Several popular country singers, including Travis Tritt and John Rich, said they wouldn't serve the beer, while Kid Rock posted a video of him shooting cases of Bud Light with a gun. "We at Bama Budweiser, an independent wholesaler, employ around 100 people who live here, work here, and our children go to school here," Tatum said in the ad. "We do not, and as I said before, did not support this issue involving Dylan Mulvaney. There was one single can made. It was not for sale and wasn't properly approved. As a result, the Bud Light brand has new leadership. "Dylan Mulvaney is not under contract with Bud Light. The videos you may have seen are Mulvaney's own social media posts that went viral, and many web-based news outlets have distorted the story. You deserve to know the truth, and life is too short to let a couple of individuals decide what you can eat or drink or spend your hard-earned money on. And remember, making friends is our business, not enemies." Drop in Sales The latest industry data show that Bud Light's sales dropped in the first week of May, falling by 23.6 percent in the week that ended on May 6, Beer Business Daily reported using Nielsen IQ data. In the final week of April, sales for the beer dropped by 23.3 percent. "Trends aren't getting much worse, but certainly not getting any better either," Beer Business Daily wrote in a commentary on the figures. Tatum told AL.com that he's received positive feedback for his ad campaign. However, he said there has been no response from Anheuser-Busch or Bud Light corporate officials. "I'm just trying to look after Bama Budweiser," he said. "I've worked too hard to give it all away." The distributor told Newsweek, "I felt like we had to get a message out there. "We are tied to a corporation, but that's not necessarily our beliefs in our market here in Alabama." Sales volumes for Anheuser-Busch products also dropped by 9.7 percent for the first week in May, a slight improvement on the 11.4 percent decline in late April, according to industry data. Anheuser-Busch, which has headquarters in the Netherlands, also makes Budweiser, Michelob, Stella Artois, and Beck's, among other beers. 'Misinformation and Confusion' Anheuser-Busch CEO Michel Doukeris told the Financial Times in a recent interview that his company believes that the Bud Light boycott was triggered by "misinformation and confusion" circulating on social media and sought to distance his firm from Mulvaney. Doukeris said Mulvaney wasn't part of an official marketing campaign and that "one can" was produced with Mulvaney's face on it. "It was one post. It was not an advertisement," Doukeris told the media outlet. He said the viral videos of billboards with images of the Bud Light can with Mulvaney's face on it were created "electronically," but he didn't address why Mulvaney wrote the hashtag on social media suggesting a partnership. Initially, Anheuser-Busch USA CEO Brendan Whitworth released a statement that didn't address the boycott or the Mulvaney partnership. The company "never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people," he said in a statement, which was criticized by conservatives. In the meantime, Anheuser-Busch InBev had its stock downgraded recently by an HSBC analyst who said the firm is now dealing with a "Bud Light crisis" of sorts. There are "deeper problems" than Anheuser-Busch would like to admit publicly after its marketing engagement with the transgender influencer became a hot topic, according to the analyst. 'The Tide Has Turned' While some analysts and researchers say boycotts of large corporations are rarely effective, former Anheuser-Busch executive Anson Frericks said last week that the Bud Light boycott is actually working. "Now, the tide has turned. A poll conducted earlier this year shows that 68 percent of Americans think that companies that speak out on social issues do it as a marketing ploy," he wrote. "And a study out earlier this month shows that Americans are much more likely to distrust institutions they view as politicized even when they take political positions that align with their views. In today's heated political environment, the surest course for companies particularly those in high-visibility, competitive markets is to focus on their brand and stay out of the debates." Anheuser-Busch didn't respond by press time to requests by The Epoch Times for comment. View Quote |
