THAT is something the Fascist would do. |

Yeah, no surprise there. |

Yes, they do. This has been explained here several times and addressed by case law. They don’t even have to be honest. You can demand to be in the group. You’d probably get denied on logistical and available space grounds. What they can’t do if you already have access, is revoke it because they don’t like your reporting. |

They literally are the definition of propaganda. |

Settled case law. The executive branch cannot arbitrarily revoke press access on the basis of the content or their own perspective of the coverage. The court ordered Acosta’s credentials returned, and it will in this case too. It’s cut and dry. It’s sort of like trans people getting guns. You might not like it, but they’ve got the right to keep and bear arms just as much as you do. |

Watching to see how this plays out. I certainly hope that CNN, MSNOW and Politico get their noses rubbed into it even if it takes a series of appeals. In the meantime, I don't particularly care that my tax money is being spent to make those three spend money to fight it. FAFO. |

Here's another thing to consider, networks that have licenses can't engage in outright partisan coverage, per the rules for their FCC licenses. It's been shown, over a decade, that they readily engage and conspire with the left in order to do this. Pushing hoaxes and outright fake news stories on a president because of their political allegiance is not journalism. That boxes out journalists who take their job seriously. The latter journalists are still able to have access. That's not a violation of the first amendment. Congress (or Trump) has passed no laws restricting their reach. These networks affected can still broadcast, still talk about what they want, they just don't have access to a single, tiny area, that many other news organizations have access to, including foreign ones. |

They are cable/digital. FCC doesn’t license cable networks, they license radio and over the air TV. FCC has no jurisdiction. FCC also axed the fairness doctrine in the 80s. Not that it applies here anyways. As to your last argument that stripping access isn’t stepping on their rights because they can broadcast elsewhere… case law says you’re wrong. Access is protected. |

CNN Sues Trump For Violating Its First Amendment Right To Fabricate News ![]() WASHINGTON, D.C. In the latest wave of legal turmoil enveloping the nation's capital, cable network CNN sued the Trump administration for allegedly violating its First Amendment rights to fabricate the news. CNN, MSNOW, and Politico expressed outrage after President Donald Trump expelled the outlets from the White House, arguing that his administration was denying them their constitutional rights to make things up and report them as facts. "He has no right to keep us from making things up," said CNN personality Kaitlan Collins. "It is the right and indeed the duty of major news outlets in the United States to carefully fabricate false narratives to undermine Trump's leadership and foment anger and fear among the populace. How are we supposed to erode confidence in the administration if we're not allowed to spread fake news? Our rights are being violated." |

This is not fascism or censorship. Unlike the Biden admin that had social media censor posts of individuals. |

The gymnastics going on to justify this are amazing ![]() |
| The big network news are fucking dinosaurs. Now that streamers and pod casters have thousands of times more viewers than the networks we don't need their boomer shit anymore. |

We should be careful claiming that media you don’t like “isn’t journalism and thus isn’t protected” as well. |

How has he denied the news media their First Amendment rights? They can still post whatever they want, they just can't do it from the White House briefings room. That is a privilege, not a "right". And to further expand on that, why do they feel they deserve that privilege over other news agencies that aren't allowed admission? |

These same "principled" journalists would fight to get into an Iranian government news conference -- you know, that government that is murdering their own citizens. But that's different... right? I was hoping FOX had learnt their lesson from the last time they swung Left. Apparently not. To Hell with the lot of them. Better no news at all than slanted propaganda dressed up as 'news'. |

ARFCOM should petition to have a spot in the news briefing room, we have a few members with press creds. First Amendment, right(s) right? If they deny us we should sue for First Amendment infringement according to those d you claiming CNN and others are being denied. |
