Has anybody had any dealings with them? As I am not your typical ARFCOM guy (millionaire, swimsuit model wife, mansion & yacht). As I am not particularly credit and banking savvy, I have found myself in a position that I am looking for a HELOC, and due to reasons (dog pile me here), might end up having to use their services. My primary bank kinda took me down a notch, as I had a couple of late payments, therefore my credit rating dropped. Any horror stories? Any feel good stories? Any advice? As this is a difficult time to navigate through, in typical ARFCOM fashion, some abuse is okay, but what I really need is some insight and advice. ThanX in advance... P/P |

How much are you looking to borrow and what do you need it for? There's tons of options for second mortgages/HELOCs, have you looked into other lenders? Are you in the military? If so, I got fidelity's credit card when I was on active duty and was going to use it to pay for a new HVAC because it had 0% interest for 12 months. A few weeks after I got the card they sent a letter that said my normal interest rate after the first year at 0% would be only 6% due to their interpretation of the SCRA. It also gives 2% cash back. |

Thank you all... I have sniffed around with a couple other options...my head is spinning... Need $$$ for debt consolidation combined with some much needed home improvements/repairs. Prob. about $200,000 needed. |

Depending on your existing mortgage balance and rate it might be cheapest to refinance your mortgage? HELOC will be higher rate than you could get on a single mortgage. ie. if you currently owe $100k at 4% and $200k HELOC is 8% your overall debt is $300k at 6.7%. If you can refinance $300k at 6% it would be cheaper overall. |

I'd focus on attacking that consumer debt, and put off any home repairs until I had that gone. |

Hope this thread can help you but it’s gonna hurt. Not trying to attack you. Where did this debt come from? I get it bad decisions were made. Not trying to beat you up about that. But you have to attack the root source of your issues while also trying to work on the debt. |

Credit karma does not offer loans directly. Loans are just advertised through them. Since they have tour credit information it allows them to display actual rates for loans for you to shop. I have an unsecured personal loan I found through them. No issues with it at all. Was a lower rate than I found elsewhere. |
