A user claiming to be “gbrumf4” contacted me on tacswap for the sale of my Mawl C1+. Can anyone vouch for them or provide feedback? It looks like their user account only has seller feedback here from more than a year ago and their tacswap info is 0 feedback 0 posts. This is obviously a very pricey item at $2700 so I would like to mitigate risk if possible as they claimed to be that user here.
Much appreciated. |

how do we know you're not the scammer trying to get one over on the other guy?

Tell him you need a picture of him holding the money next to a few pounds of imitation crab meat. Clothing optional, model train set isn't.
If he can't or won't it's a scam. |

Even if it is the same user name on here that alone is no guarantee it is the same person. Scammers do copy user names from different websites to make them seen more legit. You could send a PM on here to gbrumf4 and ask if they are the same person with that user name on tacswap and verify if they do have the item for sale.

I couldn't find that user name on TacSwap. I couldn't find OP's name in TacSwap.
Maybe it's Tac that is broken... Maybe not. |

I doubt he would be here that long with only positive feedback if he was up to no good. Adding realized that tacswap is not here. He could verify here that it is him who contacted you. |

OP is going to be so damned confused as to what’s going on here. He joins to ask a legit question and the welcome wagon committee is in its natural state of fuck with everyone.

View Quote Lying about delivery/ package theft/ lying about condition when received/ random charge back/ other fraudulent payment. Can be mitigated, but plenty of ways buyers can screw you/ screw with you and on most payment platforms they get the benefit of the doubt in disputes. ETA: I guess with a mawl maybe itar concerns as well |

Anyone need an aiming device? There seems to be one for sale at ------.

I don't understand why you would be concerned if they weren't who they said they were...
You're selling HIM the $2700 item, not the other way around. He pays you first (Zelle, Cash App etc), you send him the goods signature required. What's there to vouch? Do you think he's a Russian asset? An ISIS terrorist? The AFT?? When in doubt... pull out. |

Im worried about ‘item not as described’ type chargebacks or things like ‘send back a chinese clone return and disappear’ type garbage. Its happened before, it will happen again. And I cannot afford the (paid $3600 on HCC Tactical) $2700 (selling it) loss at the moment.

Originally tried Paypal G&S with him. He sent funds but in 3 separate transactions instead of 1 and 2 of them were flagged ‘suspicious’ by paypal. I immediately refunded him (screenshot evidence) and he confirmed he received the refunds. I do not trust this exchange at all is why Ive asked here (he said he was active here).
|
|
Thank you. I saw this by search earlier buy deemed it necessary to ask the community as he said he was active here and not so much tacswap.
|
|
The fact that Im even bothering to post using a username of my real name should speak volumes.
|
|
So you still have not actually verified that the person on tacswap is the same person with the user name on here gbrumf4 other than him claiming on the tacswap website they are the same person (i.e. has not responded here on ARFCOM).
And you were concerned about being scammed....yet you went through trying to do the sale? ONE question...WHY? |
|
|
All I have is my word bud. He said he active here and not so much Tacswap so I assumed maybe the community could vet him. I guess not.

View Quote Have you actually heard from him on HERE and not just on tacswap? He could be a scammer claiming he has an account here under the same user name, but in actuality does not (and is a scammer who looked for user names from other gun forums to make his tacswap account look more legit). |
