When I was looking at getting a bolt gun, I came across the "solo 300" which is what I essentially ended up mimicking. His is more refined, of course.
Just a little something to play around with |

What kind of upper did that start as? Do my eyes decieve me, or is it polymer with aluminum inserts?

I guess these heavy long boys aren't necessary for subs in a non semiautomatic gun. But the pickings were slim. Need to find a recipe. |

Put a second PVC sleeve around the "hand guard" with a rod or arm connected to the carrier.
Work it like a pump shotgun. |

View Quote I freely admit I don't know anything about NFA stuff (thanks CA for saving me all that trouble!)...but wouldn't a hand on the shroud like that--necessary to cycle the action--make it an NFA issue, given the barrel length? |

Quoted: I thought about this. I tested my 300 black single shit vs semi and didn’t notice much of a sound difference. How r u going to block off the gas port? My solution was just turn a gas block sideways View Quote Damn. That sucks. Not much difference in sound huh? Yeah gas block sideways |

Haven't been in a cluster fuck thread here in a while. So. why not.
Keep going OP. your WESCOG skills are epic. |

I admit I am morbidity curious to see where this project ends. I am thinking it will likely be in an ER with them digging what’s left of a bolt carrier out but ok.
I can only guess you wanted a 300 with a straight pull bolt. I would just have installed an adjustable gas block with a shut off so you can back out once the fun wears off. |
|
I guess you won't need the gas rings?
Do you plan to still install a (shorter) spring behind the carrier? Not for recoil obviously but to help get it back into battery? |

I had a manual operation AR in the UK ???? Built by the late Great Bradders of Bradley arms fame.
They work realy well and if you make them right hand charging they are very fast . Why did you cut the bolt carrier? If you use the buffer and spring as you would the first round in a normal AR you get reliable feed from the magazine as the rifle is operating within its original perameters. |

Anybody else surprised to see this wasn’t a Sherrick13 thread? Also, is that upper plastic?
