Is it true for the chisels for mortisers, buy once, cry once? Prices are all over the map. Suggestions? Look to get a set of chisels. |

I think he means benchtop mortising machines. I think I have several made by Fisch (austria). Bought them years ago. If you mean hand held chisels specifically made for chopping out mortises, check out the Blue Spruce chisels. Made in Ohio. I bought a single 7/16" that was on sale, amd am waiting for the four piece set of other common sizes to arrive soon. They make good stuff. *Blue Spruce tools used to be a small 1 man operation I think, maybe west coast? I had a few of his things prior to him selling to Woodpecker Tools from Cleveland OH. The new operation still makes nice stuff. |
