Radios work better.
Nor could you see any of those signals other than maybe “all clear” from most of the operator cabs I’ve worked around. |

My friends and I studied them for the test in the rigging package of the dive school we went to at a strip club.
Boom up, boom down, float the load... The 4-5 of us all got 100% on the test. 
People that operate cranes that don't know standard hand signals drive be fucking bannanas. |
