| We are ramping up our travels and I want something to record the trips. I have an older Gopro and a gopro knockoff for more adventurous and wet stuff, but neither has image stabilization. I'm thinking about the OSMO pocket 3 (creator pack). Is there a comparative alternative? Any advise about the OSMO pocket 3? |

There have been rumors for awhile about other similar hardware stabilized small action cameras. But so far, none of them have made it to market. Every other small action camera uses electronic stabilization. Which means they crop the image. The Osmo Pocket 3 is a pretty good camera overall and the creator bundle with the wireless mic is worth it. |

For versatility and creative shoots that can be done even after you come back I recommend an Insta 360 camera. You can record 360 degree videos and then extract photos and standard footage choosing which angle to record later. If you have the invisible stick it's possible to even emulate drone footage. It has image stabilization and the image quality is excellent. Costco was selling a special package of the latest model recently. Now when I travel I take my phone (One Plus 9 Pro), a Sony RX100, an Insta 360 and a Hover X1 drone. Can fit everything in my vest's pockets or a cross-body bag with spare batteries, table tripod, Platipod base and other few accessories. My DSLR now stays home. |

Interested in the Osmo pocket 3 as well. HOWEVER, you cannot use it unless you verify you are the owner through the mobile app. The problem is the mobile app is not available through the Android store, as it's deemed unsafe. You must download the APK and install it on your smart phone. Not all smart phones are supported for this. And do you really want a communist Chinese apk on your phone? Apple does offer the DJI software on their store. So before you purchase make sure you have the correct phone to actually activate and be able to use the pocket 3. |

I"m a full time YouTuber and use one and it's great! I have other SLR stuff and hardly use now (still do though) The pocket 3 is somewhat delicate though and with external mics it's been great. I pretty sure if you dropped it, it would be done. the Head always scares me a little. Edited to add. I hardly filmed stuff and just talked about it afterwords and now I film much more. I take this with all the time. I got a mini tripod / selfie stick tripods Mine even has a mic holder on it. Makes it so much better to use as the regular handle is tiny (or at least the battery stick handle) Attached File Attached File go to the video description or just jump around. This whole video was filmed with the pocket 3. In the cabin I used mics and on the trail the built in microphone. you can get an idea of how useful it is and how great in stabilization it is.
