Seems like a boomer site.
Reddit is where the real gems are. |

The ACA is a complete failure, honestly don’t know what demographic can even claim otherwise.

Where the fuck did this ridiculous "put in to camps" narrative come from. Gays, minorities, journalists...all going to camps.

People get banned on DU for their political views by explicit site policy. On GD here, they get harangued into indulging in behaviors that get them banned. |

I check out the MMM forum every so often, it's like DU for financial independence types. Lots of folks there worried that they'll loose their ACA insurance and have to go back to work to pay for insurance. .

CNN MSNBC reporters the last two weeks trying to put fear into the voting base. Openly stating on air that they would be pulled off the set,
arrested, jailed never to be seen again. This is not someting I heard or read, I watched it myself. So. That being said, the reeducation camps will begin February 2, 2025. The first to go are liberal commentators, then the set of the vVew followed by Hollywood elite, Michael Moore. WOW someone over there actually figured it out....
We got our asses kicked and all I see are excuses. Many of the posts here are simply regurgitating accusations made before the election. WE LOST VOTES THAT WERE RELIABLY DEMOCRATIC! We need to figure out why and adjust, not just continue with the sophmoric name-calling. That tactic is something only used when one can't make a cogent argument. Where is the introspection? Do you expect the electorate to vote according to the views held my most posters here? Like it or not, we can't expect that to happen. Joe called much of the electorate "garbage" right before the election. That wasn't helpful. He said the quiet part out loud, but Harris was campaigning to be President of all Americans. Also, stop with the 'Misogyny!!!, the 'Russia!!!, etc. Why didn't Russia intervene when Joe won? Use common sense. Our party must adjust to meet the desires of the electorate. To do otherwise would be party suicide. Just my opinion. View Quote Of coarse it was followed up by everybody berating him and defending Joe and Hoe. Which further proves his point... they are their own worst enemies. huh sort of reminds me of this place some days. |

And yet only two years ago.... https://www.ntd.com/court-allows-ny-quarantine-camp-plan_955702.html Appellate Court Reinstates New York Governor’s Power to Enforce Quarantine Rules The New York Supreme Court on Nov. 17 dismissed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the isolation and quarantine procedures the state established during the COVID-19 pandemic, saying the Republican lawmakers and the advocacy group that brought the case lacked standing to sue. The suit was originally filed in April 2022 against Gov. Kathy Hochul and her administration by a coalition of Uniting NYS and three Republicans: state Sen. George Borrello, Assemblyman Chris Tague, and Assemblyman Michael Lawler, who is now a member of the U.S. Congress. The coalition challenges what’s known as Rule 2.13, a set of regulations that gives state and local health authorities the power to place New Yorkers merely suspected of having an infectious disease such as COVID under mandatory isolation or quarantine. It is like watching a comedy like "Dumb and Dumber"
It's about shoving it down their throats We all know the next years will be hell and will get worse, much worse. I think we don't even fathom just how horrible it will be nor do we know for how long it will be horrible. The only consolation I have is that the goddam MAGAts will be suffering along with us, many of them will be suffering much worse, especially those in the lower income brackets who will be destroyed by rising prices for everything -- food, fuel, housing, you name it. So -- my advice to everyone is to keep your eyes on the MAGAts around you and those in your family. When they start pissing and moaning about the price of everything going up, when they lose their jobs because of a Trump policy, remind them that Trump is President, that Trump's policies are to blame, give them examples -- tariffs come to mind -- and tell them "IT'S YOUR OWN GODDAM FAULT, YOU IGNORANT ASSHOLE!! YOU VOTED FOR HIM, I TRIED TO TELL YOU, YOU REFUSED TO LISTEN, NOW GO FUCK YOURSELF!!" I have some family members already in mind who are the first on my shitlist. And, no, I have no more milk of human kindness and no more Christian charity. View Quote |

Fair point. More of the "he might do to us what we want to do to him and his supporters" projection. The left seems to do that a lot as one of the common arguments against guns I have seen is that if they had one and were pissed at someone, they would use it. Complete lack of self control that they project onto everyone else. |

What I know from living in SoCal for the last 62 years is that most Hispanic people who vote have been here for two or three or more generations, and are descended from people who immigrated legally. It's hard to make many accurate generalizations about them, but they are not happy about illegal immigrants bypassing the process that their parents, grandparents, etc. went through. They may own businesses that HIRE illegal immigrants, but by and large they are neutral to hawkish on immigration policy, in my observation. I know many second- and third-generation Hispanics who vote Republican. |
