OP cares so much about a Magpul MP5 mag that he hasn't bothered to search and see where they said they already tried, and were unable to make a satisfactory product because of the mag geometry and the limitations of their polymer.

Even at $50 it’s fairly maddening considering it’s a design that’s almost 60 years old & still incredibly popular. When it comes to ARs, we have $6 steel Korean mags and $12 aluminum American mags that both seem to work perfectly. What makes the MP5 magazine design so different? I’m no engineer, but I find it hard to believe that hybrid mag (think Lancer) or even a steel/aluminum mag couldn’t be made for cheaper using modern manufacturing processes & still be profitable. Hell, even at a $30 price point you’d be super competitive if your product is reliable. |

What we want Magpul to make: Mags for everything, ACR’s, PDW’s, MCX stocks, P320 lowers, ODG mags, sand mags.
What Magpul wants to make: Flamboyant colored Chinese flannels, Chinese sunglasses that cost as much as Oakleys, weed containers, purses, socks, and probably dildos. |
