Thoroughly enjoy my Extar EP9 with my Rex .358.
Over 1500 rounds suppressed with a mix of all kinds of ammo without a single hiccup. |

Ruger makes one you should look at.. i can't think of the model, but the barrel is threaded and you can put a brace on it...

Quoted: Once you go MP5 you never go back View Quote Pretty much this. Blowback sucks. Recoil is obnoxious for a little 9mm. It takes away from what should be a fun "plinker." Blowback is also a terrible suppressor host. You'll wonder why your can is so fucking loud and be looking for muffs after 3 shots. If you don't want to spend the coin on roller delayed or gas operated, the cheapest option is a brace for Glock/SIG/whatever. Because of it's size and how low it mounts, the Micro Roni is a great little toy. |

I’ve done the AR9, MPX, AK-V, Scorpion and the MP5
Skip to the MP5 would be my advice. The B&T is also nice but still a high end blow back. Buy extra extractor springs and if a K version make sure you have the proper locking piece when using suppressed to save wear and tear. My RS is definitely quieter than my K using my obsidian suppressor |
|
The B&T TP9 is not direct blowback and it suppresses quite well, but requires a high volume can, your standard pistol suppressor wont work unfortunately. Its about the best you can get for a lightweight "machine pistol" sized SBR, if you are willing to drop the cash on one

This looks pretty cool. Takes Scorpion mags. The PSA mags seem to be the best.

Quoted: Once you go MP5 you never go back View Quote I have some trigger time behind various select fire and semi auto MP5s. Can't get excited about them. Heavy, crappy sights, uncomfortable stock, you name it. I literally chose a VZ61 over the MP5 for my personal collection. That's how much I dislike the MP5. For a 9mm sub gun type thing I have an actual sub gun but my PSA AKV is the most shot 9mm semi auto of that style that I own. Suppresses well and seems to be decently accurate. Plus, I love AKs. Also can't go wrong with a 9mm AR of some flavor. |

Scorpions can be had for $720-750 for the pistol (if you look around and are patient) and another $100-120 for a SB brace. Mags are only $22 for 30 rounders or cheaper when on sale. Nothing wrong with the AK variant though.

Sig MPX. They're incredible guns.
This from a guy that has a transferable MP5. |

If your main concern is suppression, stay away from straight blowback. The port noise will ruin it for you.
CMMG RDB is my pick because it gets you the best of all worlds and is also the cheapest of the delayed blowback options if you get the barrel and bolt kit. Silky, silky smooth - miles better than the blowback AR9s. Pros: Delayed blowback - uses standard AR components AR controls that you're already used to Cheapest of the delayed options tunable bolt weight for recoil mitigation and timing compatible with echo, FRT, and other AR triggers requiring a full auto carrier Cons: Takes forever to ship, perpetually out of stock Extra length over an MP5 action, you need an AR buffer system Extractor springs are a weak point $474 for the 8" kit and compatible with all your other AR parts - you can come out well under a grand. |

Sig MPX.
My friend has a suppressed one, and it was awesome. I want to do the same for mine. I got the ILWT barrel with the tri-lug and threads. Still suppressor shopping though |

PTR 9CT. Yeah, it’s not an HK, but it functions and behaves like one. I had an issued MP5 at work for a few years. Aside from the FA selector, this is really damn close. Function and recoil impulse are identical. Not an HK, but I paid $2000 less for it than an SP5 also.

View Quote I have no real "need" for a PCC but keep looking at these even though the CMMG would be my preference. How is recoil on the Extar? I keep reading that blowback guns are chunky there. OP, have you considered a threaded .357 lever gun? .38s are subsonic and you could hunt with .357s. |

We all know there is one true king of 9mm subguns…
OP buy an SP5 and call it a day. |

I own an AR-V, Ruger PC Charger, Scorpion, KP-9 and Banshee MkIV that takes Endomags.
Banshee and KP-9 are favorite's but it's close between them all. They have all been dead nuts reliable. Honestly, Ruger is least favorite but only due to aesthetics. |

The only delayed 9mm I can think of that doesn't eject out of the right side would be a calico.

MKE mp5s have a rebate right now, probably could get one for $1400-$1500 depending on deals. If suppression is one of your goals roller locked is going to be above and beyond the best. Scorpions are fun but a little clunky. GHM9s are pretty nice for the value continuum, I think APC9s are too much for what you get bu5 that’s just my opinion. Ar9s are lame, MPX always seems finicky and a bit gassy but I’ve never messed much with either of those. |

I hate Glock mag carbines a lot, but unfortunately there's nothing else near that price range since the stribog appears to be a big disappointment. |

Need help choosing:
I want to buy a 9mm PCC/pistol for my wife (5’4”, 120 lbs., small hands). The guns must be easy to charge, minimal felt recoil, 6”-8” barrel length seems about right, good suppressor host would be bonus. Glock mags would also make sense, as I have plenty already. I assume direct blowback will not be optimal. I have exactly zero experience or previous interest in PCCs, so know about nothing except what I have read in a couple threads. I am also thinking that I may buy two different platforms, figure out which one she enjoys shooting most, and sell off the other (or more than likely throw it in the back of my safe). Here are some guns I am thinking about right now, leaning towards AP5 and Banshee (or RDB). MKE AP5/AP5-P (roller delayed, $1400-$1600) CMMG Banshee (radial delayed blowback, $1800) Sig MPX (short stroke locked action, $2000+) Angstadt Arms UDP-9 (blowback, $1400) PSA AR-V ($900) Stribog |
