Is there any big differences in different brands of filaments? The same type (something like PA6-CF), just different brands. Some can have a very noticeable price difference. For example, the above mentioned PA6CF is $80 from bambu, but $45 from sunlu for the same 1kg roll. That is dang near half price. There are also a couple other brands on amazon. Just curious if there are any big or noticeable differences of different brands of the same type. There is also PLA+, or sometimes called PLA tough. This one seems, from what I have read, there is no real industry standard for this and it might be different between brands. So it might have amore noticeable difference between brands. For those who have been doing this for much longer than I have (2-3 weeks), what is your opinion? If it matters, I have a bambu P2S and so far have only used their brand of filament. |

I think there is, not saying one is better than the other because the specific machine and program also affects the end product. My open printers can do Silks better than my H2 and different silks have different affect in the open printers. PLA has a huge spread in my machines as well. I think as you get into the engineering grades the differences become even larger depending on what you want to measure. |

Can’t say as to what is better or worse, as I am only learning and using the cheap Sunulu stuff, but just wanted to mention that on Amazon their PA6CF actually is $108 for (4) 1 kg rolls, and their PA6GF is $88 for (4) 1 kg rolls. So you might want to shop around. |

I'm not quite skilled enough to know how the data in the TDS translates into real world use. Turns out I got some bad advise somewhere early on about filaments to use and I now have about 4kg of filament not suitable for gun parts. So I was just trying to figure out if I should stick with bambu brand, or if the cheaper is enough of a difference to make it worth the cost. |
