Yep.  About halfway through, I thought "this feels like BDH."

More of the scenes in her episodes are brightly lit.  The love story between the fishdude and squidchick was another clue.  If an episode has more lighthearted bits, that's another giveaway.  She has her style but that's one thing I kinda like about the Mando series: seeing how different directors interpret the story.

That’s a fantastic episode/story arc. It also features one of my favorite TCW Easter eggs, the Mandalorian take on Picasso’s Guernica.

Several of the droids in the bar were of the R3-X series.  RX-24 was the pilot of the Starspeeder 3000 - the shuttle from the Disneyland ride, "Star Tours."  I grew up in Anaheim and used to have season passes to D-Land and rode on Star Tours many, many times.

I’ll admit that I was expecting him to mention needing that IG part to the Ugnaughts or having to disable an IG unit and drag it back to Navarro.

Two more episodes, I’m not really sure what direction they’ll go other than claiming Mandalore. I’m betting we’ll see Gideon, though.

As a side note, wife has developed an interest in Bo Katan. Where does her arc start in TCW so I can get her some background knowledge? Wife didn't know that the moncalimari were called that so that describes how much she knows about SW in general.

Bo-Katan Kryze first appeared in "A Friend in Need," the fourteenth episode in the fourth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, an animated television series.

There are only 3 episodes left in the season (and possibly the series too) and THAT is what they waste an episode on?  Another retarded side quest that is totally irrelevant to the main story?

Happened last week as well.   Probably just a human error issue.

As for the episode...

Jack Black and Lizzo were more  a distraction to the story than anything else.  Would have been better served NOT using them.

Bo getting the Darksaber is something I wanted...but not this way.  While probably technically correct under Mando custom it just feels like a cop out. I agree with Axe that Bo should have challenged Din for it.  It does not need to be a fight to the death...just a fair fight that does not look rigged.

The Quarren Captain's command chair/tank was an interesting thing.

Yeah, it was another sidequest episode, but I thought it was fun.

I liked how the continued world building, the outer rim, far from the reaches of the New Republic continues to do its own thing - crime lords, independent systems, separatists. The planet itself was pretty cool and a lot of it felt prequel is to me. The lower levels and 80s neon vibe felt like some of the clone wars episodes. And I enjoyed the whodunnit CSI styled episode.

I know there's a lot of hate for all the celebrity cameos, I really didn't cere. I only recognized Jack Black and Christopher Lloyd.

As far as the ending:
I really noticed the limitations of the volume in this episode - especially in the chase scene.

I wonder if we are going to a surprise spin off show at the end of the season. The end of Season 2 surprised us with BOBF. I wonder if we'll get a Book of Bo Katan? I'd be down for that.

Probably the weakest ep of the series imho. It felt like a Clone Wars ep. And not a good one.

There were some high points: The admission that their “direct democracy” was a failure, that stupid communism doesn’t work, the Droid bar… Bo Katan getting the Darksaber. The effects were beautiful.

But the rest was a lot of dark points. Useless side story that could have been rolled into another ep.

It wasn't a terrible episode.  However, I don't feel like much was accomplished other than the last 5 minutes of the show. The Dark Sabre hand off was lame. After all the talk of how it had to be "won" and that's the route they go?

There were three (now two) episodes left in the season.  Maybe even three episodes left in the SERIES.  There isn’t time to spend 95% of an episode on world building.

Assuming they actually have a story to tell that is.

I thoroughly enjoyed that episode.  I really don't understand what the haters are after. Jack Black maybe maybe was too recognizable as a cameo, but I wouldnt have known Lizzo if it wasn't pointed out to me. Also, wasn't the the security person they were getting info from Topaz for Thor: Ragnarok

Eta: immediately recognized Christopher Lloyd and thought it was great.

Eta 2: guess i was wrong on that.  Still enjoyed it.

Not pissing away 95% of 1 of the last 3 episodes on an irrelevant side quest would be a good start.
