As goofy as SW can be at times… I do believe Lucas had this as a guiding principle all through creating the story and the mythos around it. Meanwhile KK is clueless as hell and just wants to believe in the good of everyone. Edit … our YT linker may not be able to handle shorts so here’s the link in case you want to copy/paste it - https://youtube.com/shorts/5azoEzwTi60?feature=share Edit 2: nice, it did work but I’ll leave the link just in case. |

Ughhhhhh I don’t fundamentally have a problem with midichlorians, in the lore. There has to be a reason some people can use the Force and some can’t. Symbiotic microorganisms are as reasonable an explanation as anything. It was established in the first film there was a hereditary aspect. Would it really have been any different if it were a simple DNA trait? |

... Man, they just don't learn:
Star Wars: The Acolyte Might Be VERY Campy and VERY Queer. Article the video cites: https://archive.is/AwJ6t The Acolyte creator and showrunner Leslye Headland recently explained why the upcoming Star Wars streaming series focuses heavily on its female villains. Headland discussed The Acolyte's baddie-centric approach to storytelling in an interview with Empire, revealing that it was her experiences as a pop culture fan growing up. "When I was a young queer girl, I was just hanging out with Ursula the sea witch [from The Little Mermaid]," she said. "As a queer girl growing up, if you don't identify with the heroes, and the villains show up and they're all queer-coded, you're like -- yes, that's me!" Headland also touched on how this will affect The Acolyte's tone, hinting that the show will offer a more arch vibe than Star Wars fans are used to. "As a queer filmmaker, you're gonna see some camp [in The Acolyte]. Inevitably! But I would say that tonally, our references are darker," she teased. The showrunner discussed The Acolyte's more morally ambiguous spin on the Star Wars franchise in a previous interview, noting that she took her cues for this from 1999's The Phantom Menace. Specifically, she singled out the film's portrayal of the Jedi Order as being more fallible than previously assumed as something that The Acolyte will explore in greater detail. "The Jedi really think they're right -- and [Star Wars creator] George [Lucas] tells us that they're wrong in [The Phantom Menace]," Headland said. "They missed a huge aspect of the dark side rising. That just felt like fertile ground to look into what's going on for all of us right now." ETA: stop hiring these people to write and run these shows. THEY ARE BORING AND UNCREATIVE. |

I mean Padme could have easily have purchased his Mother out of slavery. I mean she had a lot going on around Phantom Menace obviously, but there were years after Naboo when she could have repaid Anakin for saving her planet by taking up a collection to buy his Mom out of slavery. Figure there would be at least a few grateful families on Naboo willing to chip in. Maybe the Jedi Council though told them not to do it? Seems like the kind of jerk thing they would have done. |

They are, and also silly expensive. That's about $350 in miniatures and it is part of my collection. I'm having a custom 3D printed and painted model done of the VCX-820. Will look similar to this, but the red sections will be a weathered light blue like Death Watch Mando and there will be Mandalorian insignia on either side of the cockpit. The ship will be the focal point of some fan fiction I will be working on this summer. |

View Quote Do we know if Padme had any communication with Anakin between Ep 1 and E2? Their interaction in Ep 2 makes me think not. In her defense, she was Queen of a planet, was re-elected to a second term as queen and then moved on to the senator role. Given attitudes slavery in general in the Star Wars Universe, I really don't find it surprising that she never considered freeing Anakin's mother. And Naboo was a mid-rim world, so I suspect they didn't care to trifle with outer rim worlds much given the widely different governmental approached. Finally, there's no way that Palpatine woyld have allowed it, as he was in a position to keep a very close eye on both Padme and Anakin. |

I wish the Star Wars universe never gave fighters Hyperdrives. It makes them a little too OP. IMO they should be reliant on carriers to move around the galaxy. The smallest ships capable of hyperspace should be something like a Skipray Blastboat, and it should pay for that capability with reduced weaponry for its tonnage. As the universe sits from a logistical standpoint, there’s no reason to build any warship bigger than a strike fighter, and a few tenders capable of rearming them and giving the pilots a place to live, hidden in deep space. |

The TIE is kind of the F-5E/F-16 pure fighter, without all the additional gear, overhead, and nonessential capabilities (the Empire has 20k Star Destroyers, so TIEs don't need hyperdrives, and shields only slightly increase fighter survivability, etc). The X-Wing and Y-Wing were favored by the Rebels because they could operate independently from carrier/mother ships. Jump in, hit, and jump out. The X-Wing also flew more or less exactly like the ubiquitous T-16 airspeeder, so the Rebels had a big pool of farmboys with so applicable experience. |
